Wested special offer LC and RAIDERS: the same washed goat?

Post by Indiana Strones »

The title says all: is the LC special offer washed goat from the same leather of the Raiders SO washed goat ("matt finish")? Any idea? :-k

Yes, they should be the same as they are both SO outsourced jackets from the same place. My LC is a matt finish and worth every penny.

If you're trying to talk yourself into a washed goat jacket it shouldn't be a long conversation - it is the nicest leather I could imagine for an Indy jacket.

Thanks. Do you think it's easy to distress?

Yes, it will be easy to distress by wearing. It will break in fast. I can't wait to see these after six months of normal wear.

Strones, wait till you see what ive done with my washed goat. Distressing it is so easy. Hands down the washed goat is way different than the washed lamb. Its totally worth it.

The truth is that all my jackets are Raiders, and I think it's time to have a LC. 8)

Anyone has a 42 (Raid or LC) here?

I think in terms of wearing I prefer the LC style. The snaps (bottom snap) are very useful.

Is the LC a little longer?

I think some have said the back panel is a bit longer. I only wear the jackets, not measure them!

I've compared the length of both washed goat LC & washed lamb RotLA
and the LC is a little bit longer. Close to about 1 inch actually.

I can take some pictures if your interested in taking a look.
(why do I even ask, right? I'll post some later tonight)

Taking out durability, which do you prefer now that you've had both for a little while?

I got my Washed lamb today and I really like it. It has a unique feel to it. While I could see how some could see a greenish tint, I looked at it under various light sources and it was nothing too pronounced. In fact, in some lighting, it looked totally Indy.

My original plan (before the WL exclusive messed with my head) was to get a Raiders in washed goat and a LC in Novapelle. I might still do it but I'm digging this lamb right now.

Right on crismans. :D :D :D
It is a really well made jacket.

You know, to update my feelings on the Washed lamb. I wore that jacket ALL weekend long. I resisted the call of the W.Goat. and I'm glad I did it. This past monday I took a friend to the ER. I waited 9 hours in hospital and had the jacket on the whole time. I swear, that's what broke in the jacket for me. I now completely accept it as a perfect companion to my other jackets. \:D/

Washed lamb is slightly shorter than the other Raiders. Perhaps Peter is trying to save the hide... :D

Alright guys, Here are the pictures.

First, Here's the differences in length between the two. Raiders is on top.

Back panels (RotLA left, LC right)

Washed Lamb RotLA

Washed Goat LC

Both Jackets (honestly, in these pics the Washed Lamb does have the same color as the one seen on screen)

The RotLA has not been distressed. It literally looks that way out of the bag. Washed Lamb is definitely on the top when it comes to hides for RotLA.
The LC jacket though, I've gone the way of Nowak and beat the @#$% out of it. The Washed Goat can take a beating REALLY good and it's texture/color seems to blend the scratches/scrapes to it's overall tone very well.

What do you guys think? If you want more specific pics, just ask me.

I've broke and got a washed goat LC because I was going to get one anyway and the $ is going good against the pound right now (what has this hobby done to me that I'm checking currency rates! ).

I love the washed lamb and looking forward to the washed goat. I just don't understand (and this isn't really a knock against Wested, just a question) why the Raiders jacket has D rings and the LC has sliders. Gemma has sent me out some sliders (great service there!) for my Raiders. If I had known I was going to break so soon again, I could have waited and just swapped out hardware on the two jackets. 8)

crismans,
you will LOVE the washed goat. BELIEVE ME !!! Raider S and I wouldn't give you sure high regards about the Washed goat for nothing.

If you liked the washed lamb...oh man.... your eyes will melt when you get a look at the W.Goat. The hide is simply gorgeous. It literally looks distressed.

Hey Indiana Strones.....
*Peer Pressure*
maybe you should get a washed goat LC too ...

Hmm dunno - the leather on mine just ripped while I was handling it. Peter says it must've been a dodgy hide, but really I've never seen such thin leather used on a jacket before. I'll probably exchange it for washed goat.
I think I know what you mean. On the waist side under the left sleeve, there is a very thin portion of the leather. A little too thin. But it's only on that segment. I even wondered today how much resistance it can put up when it's stretched out. Now only that location has thin leather. The rest of the jacket is pretty thick. In fact, can I dare mention that my W. Lamb weighs more than my W.Goat

Falco, your LC washed goat is really a beauty... And it looks very lighter in colour than the Raider S one.

I think that color difference is mostly the photos - his looks very light due to indoor flash, mine looks very dark due to outdoor open shade. I've seen two of these jackets in person and they are identical in color.

Yeah, I wouldn't be too worried about that. It looks like there's some mixed lighting in there, like window light and a warmer indoor light, like a lamp or something. Throws the camera off and the color balance.
