My new custom Wested LC Lamb (Pics added!)
It's here, after 4 weeks and two days!
I was getting worried on Monday; my first jacket only took two weeks.
I called Wested and spoke to Gemma, who told me the jacket was to be sent out on Tuesday. It arrived in Australia Wednesday. Hmm. Something is not quite right there, but I don't care, I have my jacket!
It's authentic brown lamb, and I'm pleased to say the cut is quite different to my Novapelle LC, which I will now call my Novapelle CS.
I like to think Wested took a liitle longer on this jacket to make it nearly perfect. The pockets are a great size, and the flaps are nearly half the pocket size, and well scalloped. The collar is the much larger LC size, very different from my CS. The color is spot on; I was worried it may look a little 'sofa-ish', as another member put it!
The sleeves, which I whinged a bit about on my Novapelle, are much the same. Pretty baggy, but I've learned to love them on my other jacket and will with this one too I'm sure.
Now all that remains is to wear it for a few weeks. It's so light, which is good as the weather is warming up here already.
I won't post pics just yet, but will as soon as the jacket is worn in a little.

Few pics above, not with me in it yet! Check out the size of those pocket flaps! A bit big, but I can live with that. It's so comfy!
Haven't got a comparison shot for the CS/LC collar, but this LC collar is about half an inch wider that my CS. Not saying that's how Wested are doing them nowadays, just how mine is. It seems they change from jacket to jacket anyway; I've never seen any pics on here of an LC jacket with pocket flaps as big as these...and the pics actually look smaller that they are! If you read this CM, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on these larger pocket flaps, after reading your posts (ages ago) regarding the correct sizing.

those pocket flaps are a little big and pointy for my taste and not totally screen acurrate...no jacket will ever be totally screen acurrate anyways..
whats the size of your pocket?
did you send them a picture of the flap you wanted or did you just ask for bigger flaps?
did you ask for a standard LC or custom?
the jacket has x box and a hem stitch too that also isnt totally SA.
its SA for the LC Kurtz jacket.
the jacket looks really sweet though...I like it alot...
here is my flap

Sorry Mods, about the oversized pics..
It's a 42R, Holt, and I'll put some pics of the back up soon. Nothing special about it though, everything is the right size and where it should be!
Back length was 25", if I remember correctly.
Overall, the jacket is about an inch shorter too, than my Novapelle CS, which I was most pleased with.

I think the pocket flaps are the most SA looking part of this jacket, they are big like they're supposed to be for a LC but not pointy IMHO. Now to me the collar on this jacket is not very LC looking, yes it's somewhat bigger but it does have pointy collar tips like the CS jackets, I've always thought of a LC's collar as bigger and rounder. Just my .02those pocket flaps are a little big and pointy for my taste and not totally screen acurrate...

I think you're right Doug; it's wider than the CS, as it should be, but about as pointy, where it should be more rounded. I kind of like pointy though.
It certainly fits well. Tell me, does the shinyness (is that a word?) go away? And if so, how long might that take? It looks so nice and new and clean after the Novapelle!
The zipper is the nickel one. Glad to see it's still a YKK, but I do miss the sturdiness of the 8 guage brass one.
*edit* Upon reviewing my original invoice email, it seems I did mention 3.5" pockets flaps. I meant 3", same as my other jacket. So it's my fault. Not sure why I would have said 3.5". Must have been thinking of something else. Anyway, I soaked the flaps and dried them and they've taken a great shape and seem slightly shorter to my eyes.

Kevin, I really like this jacket. Pockets look great. Flap size is ideal - but yes a bit pointy. Will probably blunt with wear. Well done. But why is Peter doign that double shoulder stitching on an LC jacket? A small issue and, frankly, I think the double stitching looks good.
Nice work. - CM

Thanks CM, I was hoping you'd stop by and say hello in my thread!
I'm in Ballarat, but often in Melbourne. I'll keep an eye out for another Indy jacket wearer!
I've grown quite fond of the pockets and their big flaps, so I love this jacket now. They're not quite as pointy as the pics make out, at least not now. Those flaps in the pics look like they could take out an eye!
I've ordered one more lamb jacket, this time in dark brown, which will hopefully have perfect pockets, but in the meantime I'm loving this one.
I was going to order goat, but I just love the comfy soft lamb.
And just to reiterate, it was my fault the flaps were larger; I did write 3.5" instead of 3", so Wested did exactly as I asked. The next jacket, I've asked for 3" flaps, so they should be just right for this pocket size.
