Keppler Raiders Holster & Gunbelt arrived!!

Post by TheMechanic »

Here's my latest pieces of gear, a Lee Keppler 'Raiders' holster and gunbelt.

The flash of the camera makes the holster look more orange than it really is and it makes the belt look purple when in reality it's a cordovan color.

Leather is very nice with a heavily oiled finish. As someone who has other custom made holsters, I found Lee's holster to be of a very high quality. His holster is based on an original screen used holster so it's design features should be pretty SA.

His turn around time was also very quick.

The belt buckle and keeper are very SA as is the whip holder.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this setup ages and distresses over time.

Overall I'm very pleased. Thanks again Lee.

Holster- $80.00
Gunbelt- $60.00
Shipping- $10.00

Lee Keppler- 1-619-647-6744

I wish my belt looked like that... my parents bought mine from western stage props for my birthday, and the smallest size in stock was/is huge on me, and I had to add a whole slew of extra holes to make it fit. But yours looks great!

Thanks man. It'll only look better and better over time too as the leather dulls and breaks in.

:-k That gunbelt DOES look really nice.... does he offer them in the Raiders style but without the whipholder permanently attached?

He received my money order on a Monday and he shipped it out that Saturday and I received it today (Wednesday). Pretty quick. He must have had everything in stock.

Nice Mechanic. Lee called me today for a belt size confirmation... hopefully my order will be out soon. I ordered on 7/11:

1 - Raiders style bag strap
1 - Raiders style gun belt
1 - Raiders style holster

Lee......Lee......don't forget meeee...... Mechanic, you lucky dog! I ordered mine just about a
month ago ( checked the front porch again this afternoon, no box yet. :( ) I suspect that Lee's
been awfully busy getting everyone's orders filled, not to mention his new fedoras that'll be
hitting the streets soon. That holster looks awfully nice - can't wait to get mine! Oh well,
time to grab a snack outta the fridge, get a lawnchair, and resume my vigil by the mailbox. :junior:

Lee, would you please share the story behind "based on a screen used holster"? - There are some thing that I see differently on screen (for example the depth of the groves) and I haven't read your story before, which is why I'm curious. Would you mind sharing?

Thanks,

Marc

Finally, my Keppler arriveth!

Just got here yesterday - now my S&W has somewhere to sleep! Photos don't do these
suckers justice - you've got to see them in person to appreciate the fine craftsmanship.
The best part for me is the color. Now I'm no expert on SA shades and tones, but this
just looks right. Not too red, not too brown. Kind of like Mechanic said, a cordovan - it
even has a slightly weathered look to it despite the sheen. Overall, I am very pleased
with this holster - a fine product. Thanks again, Lee! :junior:

Hey Solent Mk III,
You don't mean to store your revolver in that holster, do you? I understand that would be bad. Oh, and I'm quite jealous, beautiful Smith.

Nah. Just long enough for the holster to mold a bit to the gun ( which shouldn't take long
at all, it already fits like a glove ) Thanks for the compliment, Alkali! Yeah, I like it too. :junior:

Hi,

Does anyone know what the proper size of an Indy gun belt should be? I wear a 36 pants.....what should the size of my Indy gun belt be so that it hangs properly?

Thanks
