Hmmm.... well, my only real "indy hat" is my old federation deluxe, and it's my favorite because it's my only real indy hat (besides a dorfman that's too big and out of shape). I got it in the classifieds about 5 years ago. I yesterday recieved a Tawny Fawn federation IV regular that is going to be my daily wear, and thusly my "kentucky" hat. It's my favorite hat because it's brand new, I love the color, and it shall gradually conform to my head. I got it from Hats direct in the mail yesterday :)

Another reply from Chewbacca Jones;

Man, I'm all over today!

My first AB, Idol Grab bash. I guess I've had it about a year and half, maybe a little longer. I got it directly from Steve Delk. Even though it's a little snug on me (my head size went up a bit), it has been a favorite all along. The color, the feel of the felt, the shape, the way it looks on me, all perfect. I'm not too tough on my hats, so the look is more important to me. However, in spite of all the rain, snow, and soda it's been through, it looks brand new. I like a hat I don't have to worry about that still looks great no matter what.

I now own two more AB's, and I still like the first one best. Something about it just looks "more right" to me.

BTW; I don't think anyone's asked yet... what hat is in your avatar?

Its a Baron's Cliffhanger. Its got the TOD block. I would prefer a Raiders block to be honest but I do love this hat.

1- Raiders

2- It's like no other hat.

3- Adventurebilt

a- right block shape
b- right ribbon ( vintage dark brown almost black)
c- highest of quality materials used
d- made using golden era tools and blocks
e- He is a master at making hats
f- great attention to details
g- only company to have all of the pieces to the puzzle

4- around 6 years on the first one. I have three 2 brown and 1 grey.
I also have 1 ABD by Marc and his material is the highest quality material period and has all the same pieces to the puzzle. The only reason I didn't post his because I haven't had it as long.

Hers my first AB. I did nothing to it but wear it. I don't brush it, clean it, baby it nor do I beat it up. I just wear it. I live in the rainy state of Oregon.

Oak, that is one of the best fedoras I've ever seen! I like how the hat is very Raider's without having an overly sharp front pinch. I too live in Oregon, and agree with you; don't baby it, don't abuse it. What some will call distressing, we will call honest wear.

My favorite hat is my fairly new, as of April this year, custom JPD in rabbit felt.

I never tire of seeing that hat Oak. Feel free to remind everyone every few weeks why they NEED an AB! I'm going to order another AB so I can have an AB Raider to go along with my CS.

I think people over do the front pinch. It's tight but not as tight as i see a lot of people do.

I never get tired of showing her off. The AB and ABD are just the best and get better with age.

david, as soon as this one hat come off the block yours goes on.

Either one of my two Adventurebilts (1 Raiders SOC, 1 KCS)
2. Why it's your favorite.
The best block in the business, 100% beaver fur, the original ribbon, all handmade and bought at a heck of a price from a heck of a guy.
3. Where you got it.
www.adventurebilthats.com/
4. And how long you have had it.
Depends. My first (the Raiders SOC) I bought (and received) in May of 2005 (I think I hold the record for the shortest wait time on an AB - 4 days), whereas my KCS I ordered in June of 2007 and received in June the next year. :junior: -M

1. Raiders SOC
2. It's the only hat I have (besides a DP). Besides Raiders is the only way to go.
3. Camptown 1936 courtesy of Kaplan (thanks Andy!) while I wait for my Adventurebilt Deluxe
