Your first jacket looks a little big,the second looks ok, I would roll the sleeves up a bit on the first one, and then judge the size, with longer sleeves it could be giving you a distored view. What is your normal jacket size? Also see how the first jacket fits with a sweater, plus you look young you may grow some more, I gained 15 pounds after I got married at age 23. good luck
I believe she said she did. This Thread is a spinn-off of the "Wested Off the Rack real dimensions thread", so you can read the origin of this situation there.Raider S wrote:Only the OTR jackets listed as ROTLA are "80's" cut. The washed goat is listed as a Raiders - that means standard cut. I thought this was farily common knowledge??? Did she measure an actual jacket?

If that was a photo of me, wearing my jacket, I would agree it looks both too baggy as well as too long in the body. (this is personal preference)
I prefer the more fitted look, but it can't be tight! You should have full movement, but not be baggy or billowy.
I think your jacket's body is about an inch too long (possibly a bit more, but it depends how you wear your pants) and possibly two or more in the chest.
I have a similar aggravation finding a good fit, as I am a 44L, but even so, I sometimes have sleeve problems (they tend to be a bit short).
Good luck, and I feel your pain my friend!

Thank you for all the replies..
I have stopped growing in my life ( i think!@#$) i hope so.. im 27 and havent gained an inch or lb since junior year in high school..havin a wife and kid does not make me gain weight, which i wish it did..
im 5'9 and 150lbs ( and like long walks on the beach )
i got the jacket made (the custom one) to be one inch longer then normal.. my firsted wested from 3 years ago would ride up to much so i liked the longer fit, but i like a nice fitting jacket. Im in the Navy so im use to close fitting uniforms. I wanted to get 2 inches of room in the chest from my last jacket which was 42in.. so when i ordered the new custom i got a 44 inch chest.. the the OTR washed goat was a 42 plus 4 inches.. so too much room.. I wanted the extra room for heavier clothing in the winter.. it feels baggy a little.. i know the sleeves are long but they can be taken in easier then having the chest taken in..
how is the back suppose to fit.. anyone have pics of how the back is suppose to look.. i know Holt must have a few.. the man wih the eye for SA!

Well, I think you've answered your own question - the jacket feels too big and should go back for one size smaller. Will you be happy if you keep it? I'd say no if you asked in the first place.
As far as the back, it looks big from there, but everyone is built different therefore how can anyone say exactly how it should look?

I am 5-10 1/2", 188 lbs, and have a 44 Tall from G&B, which fits just right.Heyjude7 wrote:Thank you for all the replies..

Your first set of pics show a jacket that is IMO too big and baggy, both in the front and back.
The back should fit this way IMO:

See the 3rd picture...
My sleeves are about be 1" too long, but I prefer that so that they cover any long sleeve shirts I wear, and don't pull up too far when I lift my monkey arms. Otherwise, I think my G&B fits perfectly - I could serve as the COW official Mannequin

You're quite slim! I think you may need to try the next size down, it does looks too big in the body and also slightly too long.
The problem is this. If it fits in the shoulders, then you probably need a more custom fit. Ie. X chest size but X-1 body/waist.
But by all means try the Rola route it may work perfectly.

There is such a thing as being obsessive-compulsive. Manny on this board suffer from the ailment (no offense). But there’s also getting a good/right fit. In this case I would say that you could do better with the fit. Just the fact that you asked the question at all tells me that you aren’t really satisfied with the fit. Next time, send Peter your measurements and a picture of yourself. I bet you’ll score. Cheers
PS- I personally wouldn't call it a bad fit. There's just room for a trimmer fit if that's what you're after.
