Got my Penman Non-Indy Fedora
Yesterday morning I received my non-Indy fedora made by J. Penman.
I have so many Indy Fedoras that I decided to go for something different.
This one has a narrower brim and much lighter color.
Craftsmanship is very well done. Great pouncing job, sweat sown in very nicely and hard to see the stitches holding the ribbon in place.
I have given it a very loose front creasing and have not done much with the brim other than give it a front snap down.
In a nutshell, I am very pleased with the hat.
These pics are a bit light due to the bright morning sun.
Cheers,
G-MANN

I completely agree. When I read what you said about shorter brim, my first thought was "oh god, I hate those stingy brims." This is very nice, though. Not too narrow, but still a little narrower than an Indy. All in all, a very nice look. So far, the Penman Hat Co. is doing just as well as I imagined it would. :junior: -MbinkmeisterRick wrote:NICE! I like the color of it. The shorter brim looks sharp, too.

I've gotta throw my hat into the ring (so to speak) and chime in as well... that's a beautifully crafted piece of work, Mr. Penman...
Verrry "Bogey" if you don't mind me saying. And please know that I mean that as a compliment (how could someone say that and NOT?)...
I was watching "The Big Sleep" just last night and while Mr. Bogart's hat IS a slightly different bash, this hat of your's DOES still have that same look and style to it.
Although, I must say... given a choice, yours is definitely (and EASILY) the nicer, cooler and TOUGHER looking lid.
All the Best,
Mitch
