Instant Budget Hat Stand

Post by Kt Templar »

So, I got fed up putting the hat on any available biscuit tin or general round object so I went on a little hunt around my local 'pound shops'.

And I came up with this:

Your common or garden kitchen roll stand.

Put two together:

and bingo:

Also works for other *ahem* headgear...

So a total of £4/$8 for 2 stands. Bargain!

Fantastic! (Isn't amazing sometimes how it takes a really clever person to come up with such a simple, straightforward and SENSIBLE solution?)

I'll probable be picking up 4 tonight to make a couple of stands for BOTH my hats, KT (the one I own AND the one I've ordered)... So thanks!

And who knows? By the end of next week Managers for Wal-Marts (or whatever) around the globe may be looking at their Inventory Reports and mumbling "Can someone please tell me why the heck our Paper Towel Roll Holder numbers are up 2% world-wide?"

Thanks folks, it was just one of those lucky discoveries. :)

So, did you have any luck in finding them where you are?

I'm in Canada and went to my local dollar store (named appropriately enough, "DOLLARAMA") and they had EXACTLY the Paper Towel Roll Holders your photos show - in silver AND jet black, actually - I went with the black.
I stood each one up on the shelf first as some seemed a little more warped or wobbily than others (where's the high level of Excellence & Craftsmanship in my Dollar Store?!) but once I found four I liked I grabbed up a bottle of Iced Tea and headed to the checkout...
20 minutes later I was home with 2 assembled hat stands and a cold drink in hand and I was only $5.85 poorer for the whole kit'n'kaboodle...
Life is good.
Thanks again KT!
