Marc, (or anyone else who might know!)

I'm wondering how easily the Henry can be shaped? Is steam needed or can it just be done dry? Did you shape the SOC bash in those pics you posted dry????? Thanks!

I never use steam when creasing a hat. And neither on the Henry's I've got here. On the SOC version, I just kicked it all the way through the garden (which was REALLY hard to do for me, as I'm a strong believer in the Michaelson way of natural distressing), jumped up and down on it, sat on it and creased it dry. Took 15 minutes to kick the snot out of it and less than five minutes to crease it

I'm with you guys about letting it naturally distress. Of course not to knock people who like the kick it through the dirt tactic. It just depends on what you're going after. I'm of the mind that you should enjoy a hat like this as it gets character on it's own from wearing it. But if you need to look like you've fought bad guys on the streets of Cairo, then fair enough!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm ever so excited to show you the following pictures and thereby sharing my happiness over the superb job that the hatter of The Henry has done here. I cannot thank him enough for being ever so patient with me, as I very well know what a pain in the bum I've been over the last months and yet he always listened to my picking and went to work right away. Finally all the hard work has paid off in buckets and looking at these pictures really fill me with exitement and pride.

That is a beauty, but im gonna wait, and do the right thing and get a Handmade AB. Im hoping to have the money saved by October so i can put my name on the list. I've got others to hold me until "the one" shows up. I can't resist the idea of telling people the lid on my head was one made by the same guy(s) that did the lids for Ford himself (at least this time around). Thats worth the wait and the arm, leg and half a kidney

Yeah, the hatter took the picture with one hand while holding the hat with his other hand

That makes the hat look a little different then it really is. Plus the center dent isn't as deep as it should be.

Once the factory kicks back into operation come september, with everything you know about them, how soon do you expect them to produce a Henry and have it out to the consumer by?

For many years I owned a well made WOOL felt fedora I bought in Norway. I wore it hiking and everywhere. it 'wore in' pretty fast but then didn't seem to wear any more. It looked great: 'antique'.
I was very annoy when it was stolen from a train hat rack while my back was turned in a station. I can't afford to replace it with a FUR felt one.
My question then is, if WOOL felt is that hard-wearing why only make or buy really expensive FUR felt fedoras.

Unfortunatly, you got the exception to the rule. Most wool felt hats are VERY poorly made anymore, and those tend to taper something terrible, or shrink.

Fur felt does not....at least not GOOD fur felt.

I still don't get one thing. this block the Henry seems to be made on has some fair ammount of taper. Wouldn't it be kind of hard to copy the CS hat with this block? I mean LC look would be dead on.

But The Henry is a replica of an AB. Shouldn't it have more of an AB block? Not that I don't like how this hat looks it looks really great, but this kinda puzzled me. Maybe I missed the post down the road where it was explained?

You seem to be insanely stuck on the taper block issue in numerous threads, Dutch, especially where AB is concerned. Any reason?

Quicker than a handmade AB or AB deluxe, of course.

Yes, the only reason we've been waiting so long is because the factory did not recieve the right type of felt in time to start making hats before the factory had to close for summer.

He received the excel file with your names, addresses and sizes and is working on the first batch of The Adventurebilt Henry as we speak $\:D/$ $\:D/$ $\:D/$

In 10-15 days (I was told) your hats will be ready for shipping! I'm REALLY excited to see that this is FINALLY happening.
