and I made it out of latigo leather. however, it seems that when I sweat some of the color ends up on the back of my magnoli shirt. I have gotten the stain out the first time. does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening in the future?
thanx!!!

my guess is to with a hose try to push all of the excess dye out and then let it air dry and then maybe test it again with a t-shirt or something that you do not care if it gets stained. Second sugestion call a tailor with leather experince and see what he would say to fix the problem, maybe a polish or something could seal it for you. I'm not expericed with this but this is my best guess good luck, let us know how you fix this. take care

Sometimes (if it has already been treated) just some leather water proofing spray has worked for me. You can get it from Walmart in thier shoe department. It caused the leather I had to stop rubbing off on my clothes.
Good Luck,

Latigo leather has the ability to continue staining. If you decide to make another strap, use oak bark or vegetable tanned leather. It is best oiled with a mix of neatsfoot oil and olive oil. It will darken with exposure to sunlight. Because there is no color or dye added, the stains will be much less difficult to remove.

Try a little Spray and Wash or Shout stain remover. Do not dry with heat until the stain is removed. Heat will set it permanently so be careful. Best to hang or line dry until stain has come out. Worst case scenario - Use Rit Color Remover, not bleach! Then re-dye the shirt. Hope it doesn't have to go that far.

i always hang dry it. this next time, fingers crossed, i am going to pretreat it with something other than oxy-what-ever-you-want & when i take it out of the washer, hang it near my open window. i rarely, if ever use a drying machine (think bout where the lint comes from)?
thanx!!!
