First kangaroo build

Post by mlawson »

Earlier this week I finally received the kangaroo hide that I ordered and I finished my first kangaroo whip, my fourth whip to date. The kangaroo is pretty amazing and it was a lot different to work with than the cowhide. Overall it was a much more pleasing material to use, but I have to say that I found the paring a lot more difficult than the calf I've used previously. This resulted in some strand uneveness that I am not happy about, especially since they were perfect before the paring, but I am still happy with it overall and it cracks well.
