My Indy Day
Two boxes arrived today, one from Schmidty and one from Adventurebilt. Not bad timing!
My June 26, 2007 AB order arrived after 13 months, well two days shy of it. Pics soon!

Wow, that's a really shallow box for a hat and a really big box for a pair of shoes! 8-[Alan wrote:Two boxes arrived today, one from Schmidty and one from Adventurebilt. Not bad timing!

I was just looking at the list in post 1 since I'm now anxiously awaiting my February order , and counted up 22 orders for June '07. Now Steve said he had something like 200 total for June. Now if you count another 22 orders down after June it puts you into November '07. If there's anything like a consistent sampling of orders there (a big 'if') then Steve really ought to have the opportunity to make some headway on his backlog. He certainly was prior to hitting the June orders.

Well, my point was he had ~200 orders total represented by 22 orders from COW members, so a representative sampling of ~10%. If that sampling holds, then he would have the same number of orders July-October 2007 as he did in June '07 alone (ie, ~200). So if that is true and if he continues his same pace he ought to be able to cut down wait times substantially through the fall. Those are big 'ifs'.

Yeah. Personally, I doubt it is a representative sample. June was the month it was revealed that he made the hats for Crystal skull, so there were a lot of hats being ordered simply because people wanted it from the original maker - we aren't the only ones who buy gear after all. Many of the people on COW knew around may that he'd done it, so the number of COW members buying is lower than it normally would be, while the crowds of non-COW members is higher. I'd say at least 50% of the buyers are COW members. :junior: -MAlan wrote:Well, my point was he had ~200 orders total represented by 22 orders from COW members, so a representative sampling of ~10%. I think that that is not very likely, that a 200 plus order month would be consistant. Generally speaking, most of the people that would have been interested in a hat by the hatter to the fourth film would have known, just about, right away. When the annoucement was made, those that had been following the film's production and were serious collector's would have jumped at the opportunity to oder one right then. Most fans aren't like us, they are content with an official DP. But collector's are different and rarely wait to purchase, they jump at the first opportunity becuase you don't know when it may come around again. I think that once Steve is done with the Jun orders, which should be soon, we will start seeing him breeze by the months, relatively speaking.Alan wrote:Well, my point was he had ~200 orders total represented by 22 orders from COW members, so a representative sampling of ~10%. Also, when I ordered my AB, Steve told me that It would be here by the end of the year, probably by the Fall. This was after he took on the apprentice. Taking into consideration where he is on orders, that would sound about right if the orders went back to normal, relatively speaking, after the big rush in June.

Got my hat
I got my hat from Steve a couple of weeks ago. It was a Brown 7 1/8 Raiders fedora.

My second one from June hasn't arrived, but I'm not sure if that's a hitch in shipping or if it just isn't done yet. I've already sent an inquiry.DR Ulloa wrote:It seems as though Steve is just about done with June orders. Are there anymore June '07 orders that have not been recieved yet or has Steve started work on the July orders?
