So frustrated!

Post by mooniteman »

So this is my 5th indy Jacket and man am I getting tired of not being satisfied!

I just can't ever get one to fit the way I want it too! -what I want is simple:

a tight raiders jacket that fits - why is that so bloody hard?

does anyone else find they have this problem?

Just give Wested dimensions for a jacket, and include information on how narrow you want the chest to be, the length/width of the backpanel, the circumference of the armholes, and any other information you can think of. I had the same problem with my first Wested, but after supplying that information to Wested for my subsequent orders, all of my following orders had the right, trim fit that I was going for.

Alternatively, you could get a Nowak. Although not a Raiders, the one-on-one service in which Tony Nowak personally works with you every step of the way will almost certainly guarantee you the right fit.

No. I well studied the sizing table on the Wested site, then ordered an OTR. It fits perfectly. I don't know if it's just luck...

Well, obviously you're built like 1980's Harrison Ford and, of course, you need a custom fit jacket...

Out of curiousity, who's been doing your measuring for you when you order theses jackets?

If it's been a problem 5 times in a row, it sounds like you need to go to a tailor and have him take your measurements (if you haven't already done that.)
You might also want to take your jackets to a tailor and see what they recommend.
A good tailor can be very helpful.

Have you spoken to Wested about the fit problem?
Are you just making adjustments to your last order eveytime you place a new one?

I think the problem is that Wested wants the jacket to "fit properly" and you want it Extra-Snug. Have you tried going Down a size? Just as many who want to wear a sweater underneath go UP a size.

You didn't say which jackets you've tried. I have a fit problem with my Wested. My US Wings fits perfectly (I need a roomy jacket, and they nailed it with there 2X).

Ultimately, I solved all fit problems with a Magnoli. Check out his leather garment form to get an idea of how exacting he can be.

Here is the jacket he is currently selling.

Post some pics of the jacket you were wearing when you met Karen Allen. I thought that jacket looked great although it was big on your frame.

I almost think you may need to go down a size to a 38 R or a 38 S.

You may also want to take some other suggestions, I do recomend taking a jacket with you when you go to get fitted by tailor. Tell them what your wanting out of the fit. I would recomend visiting more than one tailor as well.

Send a few head-to-toe photos. Ask a friend to trace around your head, arms, and torso so that these measurements could also be used if needed.

Take it to a reputable tailor. He/she will custom alter it to your dimensions. Easy! .....but not cheap.
