It depends how picky you are on an A2 and how much you wish to spend. US Wings carries them (as do many jacket manufacturers) but a basic A2 style can be found almost anywhere.

Also, depending on your age, you may "outgrow" it as well. But USWings, Gibson and Barnes (Flightsuits) and many other manufacturers all make good A2's today. You can even find some good deals on eBay. That may be the best route to start. Not sure what your budget is on one, but it would be a shame to spend a lot of money on a jacket you'll outgrow in 1-2 years.

A2 styles are very common, so you could try some old fashioned mall shopping for reasonable price. Again, it depends on age and how big you are for your age but... try Sears in the fall. If you have a Wilson's Leather around, they may have what you want. Some of the larger Targets and such also carry very inexpensive leathers (and some fake leathers) that might make you happy for now.

The Kid needs an A2

What size are you? And just how much growing do you expect to do? Do you insist on an A2 or will something close-enough do just fine? I think there are many floating around on Ebay and that would probably be the place to find a good value. Besides, you must have some options in Singapore. Happy Hunting!

try a second hand store also, sometimes you can find something really special there. I got my son a close Indy jacket for 20.00 dollars and the jacket was well made. I know I have seen on e-bay that people have found top notch A-2's at second hand stores so just look you may never know what you could find.

How much money do you want to spend?

You can get a very accurate WWII repro from the high end vendors
starting around $500.00 and up. These will be accurate down to the
number stitches per inch of the cotton thread.

Or, you can just get yourself a cool looking A-2 wannabe from places
like LL Bean on e-bay for less than 50 bucks.

It all depends on what YOU want.

Since your a "kid", and you are going to grow out of any jacket you
buy now, I would suggest the e-bay 50 dollar route.

Buy doing it that way, when you outgrow the jacket, and need a bigger
size next year (or sooner depending on the amount of pasta, beer and
pizza you eat) you can always sell it on e-bay yourself, and just get
another cheapy.

Also, if you want a cool looking jacket like the A-2, check out the repro
versions of the WWII Tanker jacket by places like At The Front.

They are repros of the original WWII Tankers (Jacket, Cold weather)
and are made from Khaki colored heavy cotton twill.

They have a nice wool lining, that will keep you warm, and the jacket
has a bi-swing back, making it VERY comfortable to wear.

It has wool ribbed knits on the bottom and end of the sleeves like an A-2,
but its more comfortable to wear.

I have one, and its a great jacket, and is currently $79.00. You can save
10 bucks off of that price if you are lucky, and win one on e-bay.

Hey Kid, what's wrong with you?

Why don't you want an Indy jacket, just like everybody else? But seriously, Wested makes Kid or "Youth" sizes for their Indy jacket and may make other models. Just want you to have lots of information!
