Well, I did it.

After looking at all the beautifull jackets here I was so motivated that I just submitted my order for a G&B Dark Brown Goat to go along with or replace my old Wested.
Of course the other half doesn't know what I've done yet. (Another post I'm sure.)
Now the wait.

Hi Mac. Did they give you an ETA?

I ordered a dark seal goat (2 actually to get the sizing right) and they said 3-4 weeks.

They told me about Mid August. They were out of stock in the size I ordered. So, it has to be made.
Actually, I believe she said the 18th.

Sounds like a superb and extremely durable choice!

(BTW, are you near Clarksville? I stayed there when I had to do some work in Elkton. I drove past those giant animal statue-things to get from Clarksville to Elkton. I wonder what the story is behind those mammoth beasts.)

How long did your Wested hold up?

What size are you? I am a 44, and was told the same thing for the last 2-3 weeks.

They must run very low inventories on them, as 44 is the most popular size. It is 90 degrees today, and will be for 6-8 weeks, so its not as if having it in hand would mean I could wear it.

Part of me is actually glad I won't have it for a while, because it would just be stored in a closet here, and that might not be the best place for a new leather jacket due to room temperature and humidity.

Bothans, yep smack in the middle of Clarksville. Not sure which "statue-things" you're talking about. But, I could try to find out the story.
The Wested is still fine. I Just decided it's time to move up.
Truth is, I got the "pre-distressed" when I bought it in the late 90s. And, I was never really truly happy with it. Then, I found COW and saw all the other options out there for an upgrade.

Bobjones, the gal I talked to over at G&B mentioned the 18th of Aug as a production date. I'm a 44 as well. So, I can only imagine that they run some kind of production schedule.
If they're out of stock when you try to order then you have to wait for the schedule to come around. Only a guess on my part BTW.

I called in today, and they said I should expect to have it in hand the second week of August, so I guess I am a bit ahead of you in their queue

Part of me would like to have it in hand today, another part says "hey dummy, the weather forecasted for the next week is 92 degrees, what's the point?" It'll just take up closet space until Sept anyway, but given the way prices are rising like mad for everything else these days, might as well get it now before they raise it above $448.

I can definately relate. I'd love to have it here now. But, I'd probably just die of heat stroke mowing the lawn in my new jacket.
Besides, a 1 month wait for a quality product isn't all that bad.
