A new Louie bullwhip

I just received a 10' old style Indy (Morgan style) from Louie Foxx and couldn't be happier. His craftsmanship and service is first class. I was able to get a tremendous crack out of it the first time, which made me look better than I really am. You can see it here http://bullwhips.org/ on Louie's website. Having a real whip that works is amazing. Looking forward to becoming better with it.

Louie does good work and he is a very giving with himself and his time. I had a great time when we got together last year. Congrats on your new whip.

Thanks for the picture Louie, thanks BendingOak. I don't have a digital camera at the moment. maybe later. I went out today and was able to spend some time breaking it in. So far I can do an overhead cattlemans pretty good, still working on a flick and underhand. One thing is for sure, technique is everything. I finally understand why it is important keeping it in the same plane and being smooth and patient. My 12 year old son, with safety glasses, was able to perform an overhead. It is a little long for him, but he is trying. He probably could use a 6' or 8' much easier. It feels very balanced and comfortable.

I took it to my office to show a couple of co-workers. They had no idea how detailed a quality bullwhip should look like. I uncoiled it for them and they all backed up

I totally underestimated the intimidation factor it has. Of course, I have nothing but respect for it.
