For all you Todds standard owners...

Post by IndianaBogart »

Ok, so my Todds Standard Jacket is supposed to arrive at my house on Tuesday. (according to UPS) So I was just wondering, before it arrives, is there anything particular that I need to know? How often (if at all) to I need to put conditioner on it? I've seen here where some people have worn theirs in the rain intentionally to get some natural distressing. Good idea? Bad idea? I think you get the idea. So anything that you guys might think is important for me to know before I recieve my jacket I would love to know and would very much appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

I'll pitch in a few thoughts. First of all, don't be shocked by how light it is, it's tougher than you might think. Second, don't be afraid to wear it in the rain. If you let it dry naturally at room temperature it will be fine. After it dries a good coat of Lexol or other brand of light conditioner is a good idea, but it isn't nesessary to do this every time it gets wet. And third, resist the temptation to wear it 24/7, because as awesome as the jacket is, the wife may find it a little wierd if you insist one wearing it to bed.

Thanks a lot for the advice Weston. I really appreciate it. I've seen some pictures of your Todds jacket and it looks great. Can't wait to get mine now.

Actually, my girlfriend is almost as excited as I am for my jacket to get here. She keeps asking me "when are you gonna get it?" and "you've got to tell me as soon as it comes in."

And just when I thought she couldn't get any more amazing.... :D

I just got a Todd's standard and I love the way it moves because it is so light. Also, because it's light it forms to the body and looks great when you wear it. (And if you ever consider distressing it you won't feel guilty about "ruining" a $300 or $700 jacket.)

This jacket is GREAT. It's lightweight, so don't be shocked. Most importantly, if you want to beat the living daylights out of any jacket, it's definitely thins one. Did i mention it's only $150 :D :D :D

Its all in there.. although, I've recently applied a generous portion of lexol to the jacket and it was taken in that rich brown color now. I should take newer pics soon
