Indy stunt show - FX or Real?

Post by mooniteman »

I was just recently at Disney and even as a kid the whip sounded just odd to me - so I wonder is the whip in the show that we hear really cracking or is it a sound effect something about it just sounds fishy - any thoughts?

From what I could tell it's the whip cracking...I was just down there about 2 months ago. It may sound weird because of a combination of the performer being mic'd and echoing.

Below is the Indy stuntshow bullwhip:

ah yes i never considered the mic that would add quite a bit of odd noise to it - love it though - and that looks like a good ole nylon popper - is that a whip you own or did you just happen to take a pic?

That's the one that they use in the Stunt show, I took the pictures a few months ago.

After the show I talked briefly with the performer and he didn't know much about the whip, but David Morgan confirmed that it was most likely one of his.

If you look at the fall hitch, it looks like the fallhitch needed to be retied, but no one knew how to do that, so they wrapped it with string!

I love that show, but never made a huge effort to be selected. But when I go back this Fall, I'm gonna do my best to be "evil laugh guy" :P

If you showed up in jacket and fedora, would you be MORE likely to be picked, or LESS? :P
