Here's my latest. It's 6 foot, 12 plait black kangaroo with the usual construction, but this time I took the core further down the thong, and although I think I overdid it a bit (I'm not crazy about the taper on the second half of the whip), it was a very good school and training. Now I think I've got a pretty good idea of where the sweet spot is...

Thanks, it does crack nicely but is still a bit stiff to make a nice easy loop. I do think I carried the weight too far down the thong, but it's not the end of the world, and the next one will be even better! Took it on the roof-top terrace of my friend's condo last night and got a few nice cracks out of it. Then I nearly gave her a heart attack by giving it to her as a belated birthday gift hahahaha!

Thanks. No I don't twist the core. There's really no need. I split it it two parts, with the smaller/narrowest lying in the bigger/widest, the way Morgan does it I believe. It makes a very dense core that takes a round shape well. I use very strong sewing thread to hold the whole thing together while I plait the first belly over it.
