I've heard mention from many COW members that distilled water is the one to use.

I've heard this to, I'll have to see it they've got smaller containers.
Last time I purchased I had to buy a gallon.

But we digress, please back to the topic at hand.

That would be me who said that! Tap water has all kinds of junk in it that could stain a hat, so never use that. Distilled water has less of a chance of containing salt and minerals that could effect the dye on the felt, so it's the least risky. Basically, the purest, cleanest water is always best.

Correction on the list. My date of order should be July 7/29 not 6/29.

Also - sorry - forgot the size - 23 1/2" whatever size that translates to.

In fact, it depends on how many orders he got at the 2nd half of the last year.

If Steve got the same amount of orders like this month (June), it will keep that rythm easily. :(

We'll keep waiting for that wonderful hats. :)

An AB is an AB --- and whatever the wait it is worth it. I don't think Steve ever thought AB would take off as much as it has and I am sure the poor guy is working hard to get the orders out. As much as I am curious where my order stands I am not calling him weekly to find out my status...I am being as patient as I can...It is worth the wait....WELL worth the wait.

That's all swell... and the wait time is cool... and once it arrives, I know that any anxiety over waiting will vanish... but... but.

I can TOTALLY appreciate the overwhelm Steve must be feeling... the pressure he must be under... the repetetiveness of making and re-making and re-making this many hats... and I'm a patient guy... I am... but.... but.

and I quote... "You will have the hat by the time the film comes out is what I am promising, for orders taken now. Appreciate the interest. Steve"

That was September 21st, '07.

I know he's a busy man... and I am thrilled for him, and for Marc... but one little note... "falling behind schedule... it's gonna be late... cool?" would have been nice.

I designed the COA for the felt scraps... and the communications back and forth were great... "oh by the way... I'm a bit behind on the hats... cool?" would have been nice.

I'm totally not NOT upset... I'm really not... all I'm saying is it would have been nice.

I eagerly await the hat... and ALL this will blow away like mist once it arrives, I know...

oh Indy... the passions you inspire....

My AB arrived yesterday (6/21) \:D/

I had family in from out of town this weekend so I haven't had much time to wear it and take pics, but I am glad it finally made it. The wait may be long, but it is worth it in the end.

A big "Thank You!" to Steve.

I ordered it late June of last year.
not much communication from Steve as is the case will all, however, when i did email him I always got a response.

Friday I slept a little late. My wife came into our bedroom with a big white box. I had no idea it was coming. I sprang out of bed and carefully opened the box.
I had been really nervous about the fit etc, mainly because it had been a year since the order and I had not talked with Steve often.

All I can say is this.
This is the hat that I had wanted since I was a kid. (I'm 39 now)
The fit was perfect and the look was like no other that I has ever had.
I'm looking for reasons to leave the house just so I can wear it out.
I love my Fed IV, but the Adventurebilt is now the one.

for those still waiting with nervous anticipation all I can say is take a calm breath and know that although it seems like forever, soon the day will come and you too will know what all the fuss is about.

Thanks Steve,

Hi friends!

I haven't been around here much the past couple of years! I've been living in Israel. I'm finally back and am proud to say I JUST (as in 10 minutes ago) ordered an AB-Raiders bash (Idol Grab)!!!

I've also ordered a Magnoli HJ to tide me over until I get my AB. I'll post picks of the HJ as soon as I get it.

It's nice to be back!

Cheers

I put the order in for my AB Deluxe with Marc on 7th July 2008, and I'm looking at around 14 months wait. In the meantime, I get to have a long think about whether I go for SOC of KCS. Time is on my side, however.

Question: my Fed IV has a tendency to sit on the top of my head when bashed with a centre dent. My other hats don't do this, but it annoyed me so much that in the end I went for a teardrop. I'm a touch concerned my AB will do this too, and it's the one hat that I certainly **do** want a centre dent on. Any thoughts? Any bash likely to be particularly sensitive to that? Anything I should mention to Marc? I'm sure it will be a beautiful hat, regardless, but.... a centre dent would be best and I don't want to wait 14 months to have to compromise on the look!

Boy, we have got like three avatars on this page that need a "wide load" sign attached to them. The mods are going to zap those things soon. Guys, when are you going to learn, you can't have avatars that big.
