Calling all 42 G&B Expedition Owners. Some help please.

Post by Indy_1971 »

Hi,
I'm on the verge of ordering my jacket. In fact I called on Friday to do that very thing. Normally I take a 42R. When I spoke to G&B and told them my height 5 11 1/2' they told me I may need a 42L as the sleeve lenght for a 42R is 33 inches. I took a measurement, and my sleeve length is 35 inches. Never taken a "Long" in a garment before so I'm a bit worried. I'm ordering this from Canada so I'd like to get this right.
If anybody else owns a 42R or a 42L and can offer some help with measurements of the sleeves (and their own sleeve lengths), I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

I'd go for the long. I'm 5'10 with a 33-34" sleeve and I think my G&B 42R sleeves are just about perfect after all the sleeve wrinkling and breaking in. Maybe another 1/2" would have been better, but I'd go for the tall if I were you.

Go with the 42 long

I'm 5'11 and just sent back my 42R for a 42 long: the long is perfect, I take a 35 sleeve. The long is a much better length.

I have 42 T (tall) I don't think they use the word long. It fits really well. I'm 6ft 1.5, 180 pounds.

Sorry, I mean't "tall".
Bachelor party last night. Not thinking clearly.
Back of my head, about to fall off.
Thanks for the help!

I would go with G&B's recommendation, since they know their product. On their advice, I went with a 44T and I'm very happy I did. The regular would have been too short on me.

And don't worry if the sleeves seem a bit too long at first. As Mr. Humphries would have said, "They'll ride up with wear".

Go with the long. I'm 5'11 too. I get sleeves that are in between a long and a regular. You don't notice anything in the body. If the sleeves are too long you can always have them shortened by a local tailer. It's harder to go the other way. Cheers
