Believe it or Not....This used to be a stock Dorfman Pacific

Post by Indycrazy5187 »

While salivating for our Magnoli HJ's, myself and my brother (COW: Penitent Man) rebashed and replaced the ribbon on this DP. With the instructions from Indyfalco (thanks dude), we turned this mediocre hat into a contender. My brother rebashed the hat and I reshaped the brim and put the chocolate brown ribbon on. The ribbon was purchased at JJ hat center in NYC on 5th ave. Below is a link to a video i made and pics of the hat.

I think the hat looks pretty good, although you really didn't leave us with many choices. Great or Good?

Thanks Man
We tried to include the bad option but when we went back to edit it wouldn't let us...besides...if someone had a negative observation they would surely post it

I didn't vote yet, but I would say good job. To be great, I was looking for a little up swoop in the back and this Dorfman looked flat. But overall, a big improvement on a Dorfman.

Indiana Mark VII,
I thought about the swoop in the back after I finished bashing the crown, but the dorfman is so loaded with stiffener my brother (IndyCrazy) suggested to leave the back alone as it wont sit right on a chair or tabletop...and i dont have a hat stand
I CANT WAIT FOR MY MAGNOLI HJ BY FEDORA!!

I voted "good". It's a good looking hat, but...well, let me put it this way. IMO the one thing that says "Indiana Jones hat" is the squared/non-tapered crown. The crown on your DP is too tapered/rounded (particularly when viewed from the front) for my tastes.

Of course, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong.

Yes it is tapered but the crowns on DP's are way too small...if we would've went any tighter it would've looked weird.

Hey guys, how soon will your Magnoli HJ be at your hands? I've been waiting to see whether or not I want to purchase one but I want some insider information from someone who owns one. When you get it, do you mind telling me about? I'm particularly interested on how tall the hat is.

awesome

Johnny Fedora owns a Mag HJ..you could talk to him if you're eager to find out since I think we're at least a month away from getting ours...But if you want our input..you'll be the first to know
