I'm new and I need advice

Post by Indy2008 »

Ok, First off I like to say hi to all.

So here the deal.I own a disney fedora I got about 7 years ago,I never wear it ,it sits on my monitor with the first bullwhip I made(actually the only one I made)
4 months ago I bought the crushable outback indy with the 3 inch brim.Don't wear it.I don't really care for it.What I really want is a Fed 4.But is it gonna last.I don't really want to buy a 3 to 400 hat.In fear I'm gonna wreak it camping or something. Is the Fed 4 a really all around great hat.I hear their nearly indestructible.I also like the fact I get to bash it myself.Could someone give me a little push in the right direction.

You can't go wrong with the FedIV. The Akubra hats are built to take the abuse and at a very good price, to boot. There is no need to baby the FedIV if you get it; it can take it!

Can't add a thing. Consider yourself 'pushed', and welcome by the way! :D

I don't know if JJ (Ken) is still offering this sale, as I couldn't find a cancellation, so you might want to ponder this beaver blend custom, as suggested by Web. Great hats!..

"Talking Shop" is man-speak for "Shopping".

Anyway, there are serveral good options out there under $300, including two Akubra Federations (Reg and deluxe), Keppler, Camptown, and now the Henry by Adventurebilt.

Regarding the Federations, they are great hats. The most you should ever need is an occasional cleaning or reblock every few years (depending on what the hat goes through). I have personally owned 4 Feds, and an Akubra Campdraft (don't confuse with Camptown). I have since upgraded much of my collection, but all of them were in great condition when I sold them. Well, I sold three. I'm having trouble letting go of my last one.
