Wested "Off the Rack" Sizes

Post by rbinko2001 »

I was looking into purchasing a Wested "off the rack" jacket. I wanted to know if anyone has purchased one before, and how well do they fit? Any info would be great.

Thanks.

If you get a jacket that is exactly in your chest size, does it fit snug when you zip it up, or are they made bigger to allow for layers of clothes underneath? I am a 42 chest but I want a jacket that has a little room. Should I get a 42 or would a 44 be better? One other thing, do the jackets only come in regular? I am 6'3" and don't know if a regular cut would be too short.

I bought 3 Wested off the rack jackets, and they all fit perfectly. But you have to choose wisely the size. :D

if your chest is 42'' you can get the 42 jacket.you are 6'3 then maby you should get a 42 long.I think the standard 42 is a bit short on you.

the standard jacket has about 4 extra inches in chest room for movement so yes you should be able to zipp up the jacket and not feeling to snug

the special rotla jacket has about 2 inches of chest room for movement.this jacket is a bit snugger for SA look.

and dont forget,...calling Peter would be the best thing to do before you get a jacket.he is an incredible nice man to talk to and he knows his stuff

hope that helps

This page is really helpful for finding your jacket size and determining if you need a regular or long.

By the way, do the same rules apply to the custom jackets? I'm a 46" chest. I would like to have a little room to wear a sweater or something similar in the winter. Do I need to go with a 46 or 48? The difference could be $20!!! ;)

IANMCCABE, i happen to have your same measurements, can I ask you what your weight is? I'm in the process of purchasing a "off the rack" by the end of the week.

Do you really think the original are so smaller?

those big pockets look great. Mine look a lot smaller. Wish they were bigger but it's okay. Can live with them.

Size Long for proper sleeve length?

Post by indycurtis »

Is it better to get a size long to ensure proper sleeve length? I'm 5'11" chest 40, and I debating if I should size L for sleeves, but then I'm not sure if that will make the jacket hang too low.

Best bet would be to order a custom jacket.....that way there won't be any "surprises."

I was thinking about it, but I'm sort of terrified of messing up my measurements. I may need to just call and talk to someone at Wested. Any ordering advice to make sure there are no 'surprises?;

Ask someone to measure you or go to a tailor to get accurate measurements.....Wested can't measure you over the phone. :)

got my 44reg today it's off the rack, fits great except sleeves are too long, so I'm just going take it to the tailor and hem them up a little otherwise looks great.

I know... but it'd be pretty awesome if they could! And make trying to make sure to get the right lengths and measurements so much easier! O:)
