New IOAB color

I'm trying out a new leather supplier and this is one of their standard colors of leather that I've made an IOAB out of. The color is sort of between brown and tan, the dealer calls it 'acorn.'

Just thought I'd run this color past some of you in the bullwhip forum to see how you guys like it. The next shade darker is a chocolate brown, a shade lighter than brandy kangaroo, which is kind of dark for an Indy whip.

I like it. I think it is pretty close to the ToD color. Will the IOAB still be the same price or will using this new leather supplier change the price?

The new leather supplier is already figured into the new prices on my website.

If my prices go up any more, it will only be to limit new orders. I've been taking orders for 3 weeks and I'm already backed up 2 months. I was hoping the higher prices would limit orders so that the turnaround time wouldn't be longer than a month.

So, it all comes down to whether my customers would pay more to get a whip sooner, or pay less and wait longer.

Are you still selling other whips as well? All the other pages on your site disappeared, so I was just wondering.

I'll make 8-plait and 12-plait cowhide whips for COW members, but I'm not taking orders for kangaroo whips anymore.

Jim,

How's that deerhide stockwhip of yours holding up?

I stopped taking deerhhide whip orders as well, mainly because it's really hard to find good hides. I have a few black deerhides on hand that I think would make some really nice 4 ft bullwhips or snake whips, but I wouldn't want to try to make anything longer with them.

Hey Adam,

that’s alright about discontinuing those as well,
I'm really satisfied with the two I got from you.

The stock whip is holding up great, infact, its due for a little greasing,
I really like it, along with its other counter part, the bullwhip, a truly fun target whip by any standard.

PS I've got to try that soda can cutting, that’s just looks to addictive.
