My fedora

Post by Alex »

Hello. I am new here but have been lurking a while. I took some great ideas from some members here and fixed up my cheap wool hat. I got this thing at a department store in Ohio for $50 a few years ago. I have since re-bashed it, removed the bound edge, and added a larger ribbon. I do have a Fed IV coming but still like doing things to the stuff I have to make them more accurate. What do you guys think?

I like it. It definately has that Indy feel. Looks like it has been on a few adventures itself.

Love the Grand Canyon photos. I took this one at the Grand Canyon and was praying the wind would behave....

This is it at last years Dragoncon with the tiny 1/2 inch ribbon and the bound edge. Not the greatest pic but you get the idea.

Now that I read this, I want to share my "Cheap Fedora" transformation into a "little less awful fedora".
(This was many months ago, and all thanks to many ideas I got here, reading posts at COW)

This is what it was like my crappy fedora...

and after some work...

I got this...

Which is still crappy, but not as much as before...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nowadays I think I've improved my work, as I'm making hats for many pals in the Spanish and the Italian forum, which I never dared to offer here, as this is where the Greatest Hatters live, in front of whom I should take my hat off...

This is what I'm doing nowadays...

The guy in the pics is my friend IndiegoJones, which I work with. This was last week, during his trip to Machu Picchu, testing one of our hats.

You can get that shot only in Machu Picchu...or may be in Akator, if you find it...
