Recieved several pieces of Gear Today.

Post by scot2525 »

I recieved quite a few pieces of gear today. I recieved my new Rockport Farnums in the Dark Tan this morning, these fit much better than the pair that arrived last week and actually do not pinch my shins the way the first pair did. :D I also recieved a "bounty" of gear from Todd's today. Deluxe whip, whip holder, holster, and dark brown web belt. I have a question about the web belt I orded the stnd. steel buckle but it is gold/brass and not silver as I expected. Is this correct? On to my pics.

Congrats on the gear! Todd makes great stuff. Your Todd's whip looks a lot different than mine.

Brass is correct but the Screen Used belt was wron and scuffed so the steel showed through.

NICE GEAR!!

Also are those Rockports two-toned???

Those look great. Question on the boots, is there a link to an online store? I did an internet search but had no luck. Found the rockport site but not the boots.

Here is a site with Farnums in stock (which is where I bought mine).

edit--
YMMV depending on the size.

If that is some new design of Todds deluxe whip, I don't like it at all. That end is very square looking and looks too big. It should be smaller and more rounded.

www.6pm.com is where I reordered mine from. They were approx. $25.00 cheaper than onlineshoes.com.

I wouldn't describe the Farnums as two toned but the toe of the boot is a lttle darker than the rest. The previous Farnums in the dark chocalate were the same as well.

Thanks for the info regarding the buckle, I assumed it would look silver as the picture on Todd's website appeared so. I actually recieved a phone call from Todd's this evening confirming the fact as well. I want to add that Todd's customer service has been flawless so far. I have one order shipped and two still pending and the communication with them is fantastic.

The butt of the whip looked to big and square to me as well, I do really like the whip but it looked "off" to me.

Sure. Yours has more of a Crystal Skull shape from what I can see.

I got mine in January.

I still think yours looks good, just commenting on the difference.

Your "butt" was more what I was expecting, that looks really good. Thanks for the pics.

I would send the whip back. It looks like a pipe bomb! If you are happy with it then that is a different story, but that knot does not look right to me.

I just got off the phone with with a CS rep from Todd Costumes regarding the deluxe Indy whip bottom knot. I explained to her the shape of the bottom knot, stating it looked like a large marshmellow, and not the way it should look or the way the ones that were shipped out earlier in the year looked. She was very polite and asked if I wanted to return it. I explained that I would like to exchange it if they had others that had a more correct looking bottom knot. She looked at several others that were currently in inventory and they all have the "large marshmellow" bottom knot. She even said that they were very different from Todd's original whip. She explained that Todd is no longer making them do to how time consuming they are so the whip is now being outsourced. I asked how long I had to determine if I wanted to return the whip and she stated that as long is wasn't used or abused "a couple of months." She stated that she was writing a note for Todd to look into the whips as he was not in the office at the time of our conversation.
