What would be some less expensive pant alternatives? :?

Define "less expensive" ;)

For around $75 shipped, I got the taupe LL Bean microfiber. You can find all manner of alternatives around...everything from khaki chinos to WW2 style officer "pinks" to the offerings from Wested and Magnoli.

Giving an appropriate answer to your question would require a set of parameters for us to work in. :D

And, there's always the "search" function. 8)

In that case go to LL Bean for some pants.
Or else, if you know exactly what color you want, visit your local Costco or wal-mart, and you might get lucky. :)

LL Bean Dress Chinos in Dark Khaki or Microfiber Chinos in Taupe. Your two best options under $100.
