Two new Indy Whips

Two new Indy Whips
The first is an 8 ft and the second is a 10 ft. Both have 6 and 8 plait bellies and two bolsters.
Thanks Kooniu. The guy that bought the 10 footer emailed me twice about how much he liked it:
have to tell you, this is one fine whip. It has a very lively feel, and when thrown it cracks like a .22. I'm very satisfied.
Jim. I just came back inside after cracking the whip some more. It really almost cracks itself, the way a well made whip should.
Those are some really nice whips! I can attest to that because I am the proud owner of the 10 foot (who Cracker quoted). How you doing, Jim?
I've owned whips of varying quality before, but I guess this was my first acquisition of a seriously well put together whip. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Cracker is an outstanding whip maker, and his customer service is above reproach. The whip cracks like a dream and really sings when throwing it. The crack is very loud.
I am an Army JROTC Instructor, and this past week we had taken our Cadets to their summer camp at an active military reservation. I took the whip along to get some practice in after training was completed in the evenings. I found a nice grassy area to throw it in behind the barracks and started cracking away. What I had failed to remember was that the HQ for the Security Office was located in a building about 200 feet away. After a few cracks, several of the Security Officers came outside to investigate the sound of apparent "gunshots". They watched me crack the whip for awhile, satisfied there was no threat, and went about their business. They gave me no hassle at all. Just an example of how loud the whip is.
Anyway, Cracker, you make a very fine product. I wish you continued success in your whip making endeavors, and hope to own another of your whips in the future.

Just had to mention that I am the proud owner of not only the 10 foot whip pictured by Cracker earlier in this topic, but also the 8 foot. Both are fantastic. The 8 foot handles like a dream. Clearly, its lighter due to being two feet shorter. Just like the 10 foot it has a very lively feel, and pretty much cracks itself.
I'm currently at Natural Bridge State Park in KY, attending a training conference. I brought both whips along to get in some practice with them. I found a nice grassy area away from other folks and started throwing. After awhile a van drove up and a grandfather and two of his young grandsons got out. The grandfather said he had taken his two grandsons to see Indy IV, and when they were driving by the kids saw what I was doing and wanted to watch. I was more than happy to let them handle the whips, and explained how Cracker had constructed them. They asked if I'd demonstrate some whip cracking, so I showed them some of the basic cracks. The kids and Grandfather ate it up. Being a military type, I made sure I gave the children a good safety brief about proper whip usage.
All in all a very pleasurable experience for all of us.
