considering another fedora

Post by Bruce Wayne »

and I am not sure which one to go with. I dont want to wait for an ab just yet. I would like the lid to be beaver or beaver blend & I would like it to have a cs style bash & brim size (which I believe is 2 3/4 front & back by 2 1/2 sides). I am not against getting an open crown & blocking it my self. any help you guys can give me is appreciated.
thanx!!!

Have you considered JerseyJones' Camptown 1957 Legend, which uses an AB block? I believe it's a beaver blend, although I don't remember what percentage right off.

best wishes,

Since you mentioned that you want a CS look, I would recommend a Fed IV, even though it's not made of beaver, because the blockshape is very close to the CS hat and the Feds are extremely tough. But if you need beaver, the Camptown would be a great chice, or you could wait and see how the factory AB turns out; I believe Lee Keppler's hat is also a beaver blend now, and they are all fine choices; there are more great Indy hats available now than ever before.

Wasn't Lee's hat always blend?

I think you're probably right; I used to get my HJ's from him and that may be why I think of his older hats as all rabbit!

I am fairly certain they are. Mine has faced the elements very well, so I would assume to. I wish I would have known about COW earlier and capitalized on Lee's HJs. That would have been a dream!

Well, one of mine now looks more like a nightmare than a dream. But nothing a good reblocking wouldn't fix.
