Wested comparison

Post by Risu »

I just got my new Wested ROTLA Special in the mail and I am extremely happy with it. The fit is so much better than the otr regular I used to have. The difference is just plain ridiculous. The first is a 42R OTR and the second is the new 40R Raiders OTR.

I got all the details I wanted in this jacket: The right length, the 80s cut, no leather facings, the scalloped pocket flaps, the larger pockets, and rectangular sliders. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier right now. Can't wait for that demon roll to show up.

Muccch better fit!!!I did the exact same thing but the other way around. I ordered a 40R and then ordered a 42R so I could get a comparison.

I got the same result, the 42R was longer in the sleeves and body. The 40R while snug...was still a perfect fit.

Now to return this 42R and put the money towards my standard Raiders jacket. 8)

Curious, why does the first pic show the jacket as dark matte color but the second one as shiny brown? Is the ROTLA special a different treated leather than the standard OTR? (or is that just due to the camera?)

The lighting was a bit different, but I'm pretty sure the difference is due to the distressing. My original Wested was sanded and soaked, then treated with Pecard's. The new one has no distressing whatsoever, straight out of the bag.

I like the color of the first one (authentic "Raiders" look) but the second jacket fits you better.

Both jackets are authentic brown lambskin. This one will eventually settle into the same condition as the other, but I'm in no hurry.

Risu, what's your normal coat size...or, in other words...why different sizes on the two jackets?

BTW...REALLY liking the jacket in the 2nd pic, and a great pics overall! If I wasn't sure before, I am DEFINITELY getting one of Wested's ROTLA specials this week. ;)

Well the first one was an accident on my part, I didn't measure and just assumed my size. My chest is actually 39" and many 38L suit coats fit me perfectly, although it depends on how high the buttons meet. So I went with 40 to be safe. I definitely recommend this jacket, the drape is almost perfect and it hasn't even settled in yet.
