My new Wings CE jacket

Post by crismans »

Sorry if this is a breach of posting etiquette. I had posted this in another thread but thought I'd move it to its own thread as I'm interested in everybody's opinion.

I got my jacket today! I'm not sure if it fits screen accurate (the pictures show the jacket right out of the box), but I love it to say the least. I really like the color and the feel of the leather is really supple. It's a heavy beast so it'll probably be late fall around here (Kentucky) before I can really start to wear it.

Such a nice, nice jacket and I couldn't be more happy. I'm really glad Sgt. Hack put in the $100 discount otherwise I might have passed this one up.

Looks great! Nice fit, too. I'm leaning towards a Wested Novapelle jacket myself.

Did I see the back panel going all the way tot he arm seams??? If it is, then it is not their standard pattern. Looks great! Can you post a better pic of the d-rings and back panel?

Looks great, I ordered one myself. I'm betting it won't be here for another week or so.
Im actually curious as to what movie the jacket most resembles? Im pretty new to this and haven't developed an eye for seeing the subtle differences yet. Maybe one of the experts can help us out on the SA of this jacket....

If I could get that backpanel and pockets in goat, I'd buy another jacket today.

Peace.

hmph.. I have a CE as well, and my back panel doesn't go to the arms.. it's about 3/4" away.. it looks just like this: http://www.uswings.com/images/IJVINback_DETAIL.jpg

you think sgt. hack is taking in our "corrections" list that we fired off to him months back?

i didn't hear any confirmations in regards to pattern revisions. i didn't even see anything materialize out of the 100 or so cowjackets that he was going to make up per a new pattern. could this be it?

last i've heard, and please update me if i am wrong, we threw our specifications of what we wanted wings to change and they were going to make 100 or so jackets in a drummed veg tanned cowhide.......then they bought up all that CS leather and i didn't hear anything after that.

Here are some more pics. If the back is too dark in this picture, I'll take another.

Then I guess this isn't a CS jacket then. Still, it is a darn fine looking jacket.

The pockets are at least ......SAY IT WITH ME CHEWIE LOUIE.......SCALLOPED!!! (and I might add, there is no camera distortion)

I am locking myself in the Nuke/Fridge now....Door closed, blast off.

Thanks for the nice words. Like I said, I am really happy with the jacket. I was surprised and very happy with the scalloped flaps.

crismans, how long did it take to get yours? I ordered mine a few days ago, and haven't heard a word from US Wings. Other than a receipt, that's all I got.

I ordered mine on a Thursday and got it on Tuesday of the next week. They use UPS so I'd email or call and ask for the tracking # so you can see where it's at.
