Does anybody know anything about this vendor?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

I saw this just a couple of weeks ago while surfing. I wonder, does he have a contract with Wested and (correct me if I'm wrong) Peter Bros.? I hope so. :?

I too wonder if anyone has heard of Todd's Costumes. I also don't wanna make any claims (been there before) and get somebody mad. He might be a member here for al I know.

Peace,

Looks like he's selling the WPG bags for a slight mark up.

I also notice that the Jacket page has Indy Chris's mannequin and it says "Courtesy of Chris King", with some pics from Wested's page as well. Perhaps Chris or Peter can shed some light on this.

Peace,
Cliff

P.S. Oh also, it says the hat comes from Baron Hats, not Peter Bros. Sorry!

That's what I'm trying to determine here. Is this a member of the forum? There are a LOT of 'captured' descriptions and images taken directly from websites that raise one's eyebrows at the moment. He does say Baron's, but I believe the photo came from the PB site :? Regards. Michaelson

Ive noticed two other websites that sell Westeds jackets, for a huge markup....wonder if anyone falls for that?

That to me really looks like a pic from the peters bros website as well.... And as for the bag, doesnt WPG sell them for $38 also? He must be getting a wholesale price from all these vendors, or there is zero profit in it for him!

Interesting.

One more thing that is I noticed is, quoted from the website:

"All pictures are of my actual work and are my own property. All pictures are my creation and are not taken from any other source."

As Michaelson pointed out, thats a pic from peters bros website, Image

along with the pic of the WPG bag, and the Wested pics....

Well, without naming names, the only reason I even saw this was due to an email inquiry from a vendor involved who asked who this individual is. They have no permission to use any of the posted pictures, nor have they ever contacted the vendor regarding the sale of their product, so judge it for what it's worth. Regards. Michaelson

That is a pic of my hat, the first Indy ever made with a dimensional brim by Joe Jr. Why wouldn't the guy take a pic of his own work? Hmmmm...

Yes I have heard of this guy.
About two years ago I came across him.
I know a few people who have ordered from him and were very pleased with the items they received. I do know some of the "official" items from other sources would retail at about $400 and he sells them for about $150. And he did state they were his own copies.

However the Indy stuff is new to his site and I dont know anybody who has ordered from him.

But posting other peoples images is a no no.

Maybe the person in question should have a quiet word.

just MHO.

I believe someone called Joe Jr. about taking orders and sending them to him fir hats last winter or spring. It was probably this guy. He didn't want to do it because he likes to talk to the person ordering the hat and to get a feel for himself of what they really want to recieve.

It funny you ask that Michaelson, because I saw this yesterday and was going to ask about it. I did send him an email inquiring about his suppliers. If I get a response I'll post it.

This is just sad, he's giving Indy fans a bad name, and not only that, but he thinks he can rip us all off!

All he did was rip off the vendor's sites and made it his own, that's just low. It really steams me when I see this kind of mess going on. I hope that someone; either Joe Jr. or Peter will get hold of this guy and get this stuff off the net.

BDJ,
Please do let us know what this guy has to say, I'm curious as to what his defense will be...

That's interesting that someone would buy a jacket through him. My gear obsession started by me typing the words, "raiders of the lost ark jacket" in Google.com and the first link is wested.com.

I too sent him an email this morning asking about the pictures on his website. I didn't accuse him of anything, I was just inquiring, as some of the pictures look familiar. Here's the response:
Hello!

I'm not sure what you mean, "where they come from". I only have a few
pictures up. Most of them come from the guys who make the jackets. I think
some people just need to relax.

Todd
So, fairly polite, and he must have a contract with Wested. I don't know about the hat or the bag. But, what I didn't ask about was that claim at the bottom that all the pictures are his creation.

This probably didn't clear up anything, but I thought I post his response to me. I thanked him for his reply.

Peace,

Hmmmmm

Post by cliffhanger »

I am certainly no lawyer, and maybe I do "need to relax", but I think this might be a problem. His item description is right from the Wested site. I wonder if Peter will chime in... :-k

Thanks Michaelson,
Cliff

I am not defending just pointing out that his statement is, for the most part, true. "Most of them come from the guys who make the jackets." The graphic size of 3 out of 4 pics are the identical size and name as those on Wested's site. Just stating the facts.

Well relaxed,
Pyro

Well, thanks to all for your input and efforts. I'm going to go ahead and lock this and allow the folks who were asking about this to read your comments and come to their own conclusions. High regards. Michaelson
