I just received my jacket from the Sarge yesterday and found out about his fedora promo today. I was then delighted to receive and email from the Sarge containing the following:

"Any member that has ordered any Indy Jacket from US Wings Inc. in the Past week ( 7 ) Days.... will receive a Free Crushable Fedora for the asking..... Looks like you are under the wire!!

e-mail my Office manager at Laurie@uswings.com She will pull up the COW name and the shipping name and date.. If they Match.. You are home Free... Just let Her know Your Hat size."

Just in case anyone else here ordered in the past week as well!!!!

A free crushable fedora. Forgive me if I seem ungrateful -- and I'm sure there are those out there who would love such an item -- but I'd sooner someone offer me a free pink flamingo to put in my front yard.

I'm evidently a hat snob.

It's a great hat to give to your kid/neice/nephew/etc to use for some Indy fun. I plan on ordering one of Sarges Kid Indy jackets for my son. I wonder if he will give me a kids size DP to go along with it?

Nothing wrong with a free crushable. Give it to some one in need, or sell it on ebay. There are plenty of people who pay for one!

I know you don't mean to sound ungrateful, but that comes out very distasteful. There are those of us who have little ones that can't appreciate the quality of an AB or Fed. Deluxe and any fedora that relates to Indiana Jones is awesome to them...Especially if its free! For our sake, please try to be positive concerning dealers that try to do special things for the fans or they won't continue to do these things in the future.

This is a very nice gesture. I ordered my CE last Thursday and should be getting it tomorrow! If I get sent a hat, I'll give it to my dad. He's a man who likes the hats.

Curious to find out what film the CE Vintage Indy jacket is closest to. I know US wings supplied some of the jackets for TOD. Is it a safe asumption that it is a TOD style jacket?

Well, I just ordered mine...we'll see if it looks as good in person as it did on the order page.

Whew...the $100.00 break is nice...I would not have gotten it otherwise.

Still...when she finds out...shhh.....umm....

lol Im in the same boat, I was thinking of leaving it at work and then having it suddenly appear when fall comes and I can better justify buying a jacket...

LOL you know, floyd, I used to do the same thing with guns...I'd buy one and stick it in the safe. She'd see it sooner or later, and say something like, "When did you get this?"

"Aw, baby, I've had that one for a long time."

Somehow, though, I don't think it will work with this.

On another note, the $100.00 discount is alive and well for sure. It was less than an hour after I PayPal'd my order that the refund was deposited. That's for sure, for sure.

Haven't heard anything about the fedora...but I'm not that concerned about it. I need another hat like I need another jacket. LOL.

There's something wrong with us.

I'm not expert but I wrote about this in another thread. People often say it most resembles the ToD jacket, possibly due to its length. I don't think this is true though as the ToD jacket is very snug fitting and with small pockets. Personally I think it most resembles the LC or KCS jacket. Basically, it's a "generic" indy jacket that has been designed for use in the real world. I really don't think it can be compared to any of the film jackets specifically.

It's hard to be sure from your pics, but it looks like 'Wings got the back panel right on this one. Does the back panel go all the way across, almost touching the sleeve seam? If so, that's a huge change from what they offered previously. A great change if you ask me.
