FINALLY got my holster!

Post by IndianaCollins »

I ordered one from Prairie Flower Leather Co. True, it's not the most screen accurate of holsters, but I had the guy work with the colors some, and the result being a awsome slightly tannish brown. The guy(Steffan, the owner) also said he made several more of these (the raiders type for the HE2 AKA the M1917) to keep several on hand. I totally recomend PFLCO for a more affordable indy holster. I'll try to post some pics on my website soon. The price comes out to be about $40.

Is your holster made for an un-modified 1917 (i.e., 5 1/2" barrel), or for one that's been cut down to 4" like the movie revolver?

I spoke to Lee last week. He said the holsters should be in soon. I am anxious to get it from him.

These are the ones made by Lee Keppler.

They look almost identical to the ones sold by Noel Howard. (Top Left)

IndyCollins,

Is your holster non-screen accurate due to color alone? How about the rest of it? I am not so concerned with absolute screen accuracy, so this might be just the thing for me. I was going to make one, but the time just isn't there, and at your Prairie Flower price, I don't think I could make it for that.

Thanks so much.

You can check out some pics of my PFLCo holster here. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tbaile ... =ph&.view= I was actually the one who recommended to Indy Collins to try PFLCo because of their quality. I'm not sure what Indy Collin's holster looks like, but I'd say mine is fairly screen accurate. I sent Steffan various pictures of the Raiders holsters and gave him my gun type and asked him to make the holster. The color was a little light at first but after a few coats of brown Pecards, it's pretty close to screen accurate. The pictures linked above are now recent by the way. Steffan also makes a pretty good bag strap too and those pics are up now too. Hope this helps.

ok, here's my say on this-i had mine mad darker brown than Raider1138's holster, and it looks great(ill try to post some pic on my website soon). the only difference from our holsters-other from color- is-well, you see that picture of raider1138's holster with the flap open??? where the leather comes across the cylinder and then accross the back of the trigger guard??? his goes straight across, and mine dips down a little, and you can see a little of it under the flap. ill get some pics up soon as i can.
i think the guy at pflco made them in both colors(mine and raider1138's), so ask about them.

the way Steffan got them out so fast was because he made several extra when he made mine. i ordered mine this past april or may, and didnt get it till a week ago. i believe he was having some family crisis' though. i believe you will be pleased with the holsters though.

Pictures of the PFLCo holster as it looks now have been uploaded (see below) as well as pics of the new strap from PFLCo. The new pics were taken with a different, much better camera. Again, those pictures can be viewed here: http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tbaile ... =ph&.view= The strap cost about $17 shipped if I recall correctly. The buckle on the strap was obtained from Haversaw who ordered a few of them from A+. The first strap is the original from WPG. The old pictures have been left up as well for comparison. Hopefully I'll have some more pics up later. Make note that there are differences between Indy Collins holster and my holster so make sure that you specify to Steffan if you want one way or another. Great holster by the way Indy Collins. Hope this helps.
