Last Crusade Jacket

Post by rbinko2001 »

Im going to be ordering a custom Last Crusade jacket from Wested very shortly and I just wanted to verify some things. The rings for the straps are the D-style correct? Also, the stitching for the straps is single stitching, too. Right? Is there anything else I missed?

Thanks.

The collar ***** and is not SA. Ask for the CS collar. I wish I would have had that option instead of the dumbo wings I have now.

Yeah... the pockets. They are totally different to the other jackets. A huge flap and a wider shorter pocket. To me this is the most obvious difference. The collar appears in two different formats in the film, so it doesn't concern me as much but the pockets.... the pockets!!!

For those who have the Wested Last Crusade jacket, are you happy with the overall screen accurate look of it?

I thought it was pretty much the only screen accurate jacket Wested offered straight up with no mods.

Has this changed?

NO. Now that I know, the collar and pockets are incorrect. But the CS Jacket by Peter looks very promising.

Does anyone who owns a Wested Last Crusade jacket have the correct pockets on it? I was looking at the pic on the website and they do look way too skinny and too tall. I wonder if you could get those customized when ordering the jacket to fit the screen version better.

Just my 2 cents but I personally love the larger collar on my LC jacket. I'm not obsessed with the SA of it so the collar and pockets are fine with me.

Agreed, but when there is no point, just a big square end......that is gross.

The Wested LC (I have one) is a good jacket. But don't expect it to be much like the movie version. Magnoli has that part licked.

Are Wested's Raiders jackets close to the movie version?

What is it about the Wested LC that you say is not authentic?

It's all written above in this thread.

Many people fail to realize that the LC pockets are very different from what Wested currently offers, for that matter on any jacket they offer. The outer edges are less rounded than the inner edges of the pocket giving it an un-blanced look. I had to send Wested a pocket block of the shape of these pockets just to get my jacket right. The collar stand is also different, not mention no inside facings, and no seam along the bottom of the jacket.

All the best,
Stefan

Well put Stefan. I think you may have been the first to get a more accurate version. I think the yolk on the movie version may be a bit deeper too. I guess some of the details won't matter to everyone. For me it's those darn pockets that really show up.

I like my Wested and I think it's ptetty well made and I think Peter is a saint for putting up with us, but my G&B is fullfilling most of my desire to have a bomb proof and close to accurate jacket (for Raiders, anyway...)

I would love to see Wested put out a standard LC jacket with more accurate pockets.

I could not agree with you more CM, I even sent Peter the specs of how the jacket should look like and why his current offering still needed more work, backed with detailed pictures of both the screen used jacket and Smithsonian jacket aswell.Oh well I tried... :)

Quick question....

Do you have any reference on the LC that shows it doesn't have a leather collar stand, other than the Kurtz jacket I mean.

I find that the wested have good Indy LC ''style'' jacket's but no way near SA...sorry my opinion.

if you wanted a LC jacket I would get a custom jacket send them some screen grabs of the pockets and collar etc.etc..
