Target cutting, need some help!

Post by Weston »

I would love to improve my target cutting. Last weekend I dazzled the family by popping the caps off of some bottles, but they had to sit there for awhile until I connected with one. I practice everyday, but all of my whipcracking is self taught save for the few online vids I've found. Any suggestions?

Always use your whip with intent. Target cutting or not throw your tip into a cube of air you mentally project before you throw it. Make sure it always goes where you want it at all times.
Trees make great targets. Go for small branches, then the leaves on the branches, then specific leaves, then pieces of a specific leaf. Try and remain consistent with your posture, position and targets.
Make a target stand with a variety of targets. I like to have spaces I have to throw my whip through to get to a target.
In the end it's all bloodless battles and bloody drills, and fight like you train. Keep us updated!
