Post by Stefan Hills »

Kind regards,

Hmm, if we go down the Alden route - they look pretty similar to these but in a different colour...

But looks as though they have stitching across the toes like these...

They were probably handmade. Any other ideas?

Cheers

ford's oxfords can be anything....too hard to narrow down and you'll go crazy trying. they don't look like leather soles though, do they?

just saw the 2nd and 3rd pics.....could be leather soles.

I agree with Indiana G. Any captoe oxford will do.

Odd about that sole, though. I wouldn't think that a rubber sole on a dress oxford would be period-accurate for a film that takes place in the 50s.

They look like plain toes (ie, no cap) to me. I think the line you see is simply the creasing from normal walking.

They might be something like the Alden All-Weather Walker:

I'd say Alden is a pretty safe guess for them, though.

I don't see a cap toe on Harrison's shoes. They certainly could be leather or the Alden All Weather Walker. Is he in costume for a movie with those brown pants, jacket and red tie? If it's CS, I just remember the details of his civilian clothing.
