Suspension Bridge

Post by DR Ulloa »

What would be my best bet for a Suspension Bridge bash? I am in no rush to do this, but am interested as I really like this crease. Would something like a Federation lend itself to that bash? Maybe a Christy's or a Camptown? I'm sure Ken can do a Suspension Bridge bash, right?

Nothing? Really? Does no one like the Temple of Doom bash?

Could the Henry possibly do the job or is it too tall?

out of the box, the IMHJ has a great brim to do the snap brim on that hat. all you need are the teeny tiney dents and the centre crease :D

i had a todd's HJ that i turned into a TOD hat but it was too tall for the airplane hat and too tapered for the bridge hat. my IMHJ, i had my heart set being a raiders hat so thats what she is.....i can see a nice tod bash coming outta her though :D

Well, I will be purchasing a Magnoli HJ as a birthday present to myself in July, but I too am dead set on it being a Raiders bash.

Does anyone know the current wait time for the Magnoli HJs?

Just saw this thread. The suspension bridge look is one of my favorites. I would recommend the Christy's Adventurer. It can be shaped exactly like the suspension bridge "sword over the shoulder" publicity photos and the "trust him" poster. It also looks better than the much more expensive HJ version, in my opinion.

Yes, but for the price, I'd rather buy a Magnoli and have Steve rework the whole hat.

That was one of my first thoughts when I thought about doing a ToD bash, the Christy's. That is probably what I will end up doing. It is essentially an HJ without the HJ name branded on it anyway. Eveyone who owns one seems to be satisfied with it.

My Magnoli took 5 months. I have heard that the current wait time is down to about 1 month. The Christy's is a GREAT hat, esp. for the money!

I will probably pick up both. HJ will be Raiders and Christy's will be ToD. Four months is not bad, considering what the wait on an AB is. This hat will more than hold me over. I already have my Keppler for that, but the HJ will keep the Keppler company.

Its not that I don't like them, it is just that for the same price I can have Steve turn it into a horse of a different color. I think the Magnoli is a much better value. Todd's are essentially stock HJs while Magnoli's are worked on by Steve.

Funny, that is the scene I am watching now. I decided to pop in ToD since I hadn't seen it in a while.

I haven't heard too much about the Miller fedora. I don't know about its quality. It is, however, a bit more than the Christy's, which telling from the photos I have seen looks like a great hat. In fact, one COW member posted photos of his Christy's in the Christy's Fur Felt Adventurer thread sporting a Suspension Bridge bash and it looked great. I think I have made my choice, but it is not set in stone.
