Discussed many times before in the past when I was also in the search for the real Raiders fedora and also became a Cury fedora owner ( which I gave away to a friend some time ago) Didn't look remotely like an Indy fedora.
I bumped into the Cury hats site just now and look at the above banner.

I don't speak Portugese but it looks to me like they are advertising that they make the original Indy fedoras. uhum
Maybe or maybe not, they were the suppliers of the first fedoras to Herbert Johnson but they aren't the supplier of Indy IV, as we are well aware of. ( Bravo AB!)
Any more news about Cury since I was gone? Michaelson?

Dig through the past posts in a search, Doc. Steve Delk did some wheeling and dealing with Cury on his quest for the ultimate felt for the start of the AB line, and pretty much determined that the Cury story is pretty much smoke and mirrors.
Steve wrote up what he was able to dreg up, and posted somewhere, but I don't have the time to look for it....but when you get a few minutes to do some reading, see what you can find. It's all there!
Regards! Michaelson

Based on machine translated text, it appears that Cury does indeed have some sort of relation with Lucasfilm, but not the one you'd expect. The Indy website on their website is actually for a contest. It also appears that Cury has the license to promote and make official Indiana Jones hats (in Brazil I'm assuming).
Herbert Johnson has not made it's ow fedoras for decades, they take pre-made hats and modify them, just like many "custom hatters" do today. They should be called hat finishers, as is the case with Camptown, somebody else makes the basic hat, and he does a superb job of finishing it out.
Who HJ has had make them has changed a few times over the past 30 years. Story is that Cury was making them at the time when they supplied hats to Raiders and Temple, I am 90% positive that by the time they got to last crusade it had changed to Borsalino.
This is why I sourced Cury felt to make hats from, they are the cheapest hats I make, and for a reason. Cury is too hard to deal with, and their are not quite as good as the stuff I get in the US. But it may be as close as you can get to the felt used in Raiders.
