Darkening US Wings Vintage Cow

I've looked through the posts about this but haven't found the answer I'm looking for on this.

How do you permanently darken a US Wings Vintage Cow jacket?

I wear my USW Goat all the time but want to change up now and again.

You can apply some Pecards Boot oil to it.

That will darken it up, and it will stay dark. They even say that
on the package. Its not for something you want to keep light in color.

You can also add some regular pecards, the one with the bees wax in
it, that would do it, but after awhile, the original color will come back as
the pecards wears off, and it drys up.

You can also apply the jell/lotion, that has bees wax in it also, just not
as much, which gives it a thinner consistancy, sort of like vaseline.

Again, it will darken up initially, but the color will lighten back up after
awhile.

If you keep the leather treatments up, it will stay dark.

I would NOT try to darken it with the Pecards Antique dressing.

That contains brown shoe polish to hide scuff marks and other marks
on leather, but its NOT made to be applied to an entire jacket to try to
change the color. The people at Pecards even say not to do this. There
are even a few posts from a rep from Pecards floating around here where
he states that as well. Its just to be used to hide scuffs and marks.

If you did try to do it with the antique dressing, then you will be
transfering that brown shoe polish onto just
about everything you lean on, or chair/seat you sit on while wearing the
jacket.

If I was you, and this is what I do to my very own US Wings Vintage
Cow that I have had for almost 6 years now, is apply the Pecards Jell/lotion
to it at the beginning and the end of the wearing season.

This way, it will stay dark while your wearing it, and by apply the jell
again when you put it away, it will not dry out quite as much during the
off season.

But if you want it permenantly dark, the only real way to do that is to
have it re-dyed the color you want.

Any other treatment is just that, a treatment, and it will eventually go back
to its original color.
