What would YOU like to see on The Henry's sweatband?
Hi all,
I was thinking of the following inscription on the sweatband of The Henry:
The Adventurebilt Hat Co.
The Henry
Fine beaver blend
As always we're looking for suggestions from your side, so if you have any ideas, please let us know.
Thanks,
Marc

I think you leave the way you got it Marc. I don't know if it would be right to say handcrafted on a factory hat

Can't wait to see the final product. The prototype looked good so the final piece will probably look outstanding.

I think what you have to start with is good, Its simple and proffesional. How ever i do like the idea of puting the movie title on the bad as well, if not that how aboutMarc wrote: The Adventurebilt Hat Co.

I agree. The sort of model or special name for hats seems to go on the front.McFly wrote:I think the first one is fine... does it all have to be in one section though? I remember on my Akubra it said "Akubra" on the side, and "Federation" on the front where your forehead goes. Maybe you could put your name and materials on the side, and "The Henry" on the front like that?

I say, just:
"The Henry"
Adventurebilt Hat Co.
The beaver blend thing doesn't really make sense to me. I mean it's information that really doesn't matter. It's like having Beaver XX or Fine Felt....it really adds nothing to the hat, and if you're putting that information in there for others to see (I'm assuming the ones who own the hat know about it).
So if you're putting the information in there for others who read it to be able to quickly get an idea of who made it so they can get one, then just put the most relevant information.

hmmm,
Again, too much information that just "clogs" the "message".
My suggestion is keep it clean, simple, and to the point. To me the most important information is the company, and the model. The beaver blend/"when good enough won't do" is all stuff you market on the website/sales card attached to the hat.
You want a potential customer to be able to see it, and google it without being confused by a bunch of other things. If the last thing they read is "Fine beaver blend" they might put that into Google and choose another hat out of choice or mistake.

That's fine if you take out the first "the," otherwise it feels repetetive it feels repetitive.Alan wrote:Yes, I think this is the best.Marc wrote:The Adventurebilt Hat Co.

Re: What would YOU like to see on The Henry's sweatband?
I agree that this is probably the best as well, although I have a suggestion. for "Fine beaver blend", it could "The finest beaver blend". With or without the "The" probably works either way.Marc wrote:The Adventurebilt Hat Co.

I agree with all the others who are in favor of simplicity. I don't think that putting in anything about the felt adds to it at all.
I also agree that having both lines start with "The" looks cluttered, but suggest that "The Henry" remain, and pair it with simply "Adventurbilt Hat Co." (rather than the other way around, if I read McFly's post correctly.)

Actually, I like "Henry" as opposed to The Henry. Not sure why but I just think it looks better with The Adventurebilt Hat Co. Prob has something to do with too many the's.
Plus, and even cooler, it makes the hat look like it was made for "Henry, a customer of the Adventurebilt Hat Co." as opposed to "The Henry" a model made by The Adventurebilt Hat Co.
Johnny
p.s. So now we're discussing sweatbands...hurm, are we getting closer to production Marc? Fedora?
