ROTLA Special with pics
bought this acouple of weeks ago and love it .Its sooo soft and light.Ithink that maybe the sleeves are bit too long but may give it couple of months more wear to see if they wrinkle up?Also it may be abit too delicate for climbing in can anyone reccomend leather that is as light and flexible but a touch stronger? Any comments most welcome.

My, my, it even has nickel snaps!
Stone, great looking jacket!
Maybe look into their new goat it's almost as light but a tougher leather. They are about to get in some worn looking washed goat too, but it looks like you won't have ANY problems giving your jacket some natural distressing!

KT Templar, was about an 8hr round trip to Wested shop, but worth it ,as I got served by Gemma when I bought my cowhide Raiders ( a couple of months ago.)
The ROTLA special I ordered over the phone.Maybe I might ask for a sample of leather to be sent to me,? save on diesel
Anzac,I think your right about the length of sleeve ,but quite like the extra length in body( perhaps 1/2 inch shorter )

I have that same jacket. They really do capture that Raiders look.
I have the opposite problem. Mine is a bit on the baggy side around the body. I don't have the guts to try a hot water treatment... I figure it looks and fits as good as an off-the-rack jacket can so why risk screwing it up.
I'm wanting to get a Crystal Skulls jacket made out of cowhide for my outdoor adventuring as the lamb is just too thin to survive without incident. I think the majority off members prefer the goat if they are after a tougher leather that still has that Raiders drape.
Enjoy that jacket!

For those that have the "Standard" Raiders jacket, does it feel "looser" along the upper arms and shoulders unlike the Raiders "Special" 80's Cut? I guess this question is aimed at those that have both so you'll know what I'm talking about.
I have a Raiders 'Special' and it's somewhat tight in the upper arms because of the 80's cut...I'm just curious of how the feel is in the same area on the Standard Off-the-Rack Raiders jacket.
Thanks in advance!!!

I do have muscular arms stone, thanks very much. That's why it feels tighter on me. It's not too bad, but I definitely cannot wear multi-layers of shirts or whatever undernetah it.stone wrote:Bardoon, the raiders is quite alot roomier in the sleeve as a whole, compared to the special offer one.I would think it would make quite a difference if you had large or muscular arms.
I let my younger brother try the jacket on (he's skinny) and he says he feels a little tight in the shoulders but it wasn't so bad on him.
I'm going to stick with my Raiders Special Offer but I'll be getting a Standard down the road.
Thanks for answering my question, stone!

Maybe they don't size the jackets proportionally? Maybe they only get wider up to a certain size, then they add some more length on?Indiana Holt wrote:thats why I asked I have a size 44 special rotla and it is alo 26''stone wrote:Holt, from the bottom of the collar rand it is 26". :)Its a size 40
