OK.. I got some Fuller's earth ordered to dust up my gear abit for the Premier. I suppose the whip could also be useful in quieting any cellphone talkers during the film.

And Lo*d knows I am trying to get your Fieldmaster to you my friend.

Just Keep chanting "Winchester....Winchester...Make Kens Hats!"

That'll probably amount to my ol' Wested lambskin, maybe my $18 cowhide bullwhip with my homemade leather whipholder, the Fieldmaster I'm trying to get before the premiere, and that's about it. I might bring my MKVII bag too, but it still has the webbing on it. I'd hate to cut it off just for the sake of screen accuracy.

Beyond that it's jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers sadly. Unless I magically get a job and buy some more gear before then.

Getting gear before the premiere is a big motivator for me. It's probably also true that Indy 4 may have reminded me how much I used to want gear, but gave up on it in the name of "practicality." It's a childhood dream, and I decided that before May 22 I should try my hardest to fulfill it.

But I'm also worried that after the premiere, and everything quiets down, I'll loose the intense motivation I have to get more gear.

Haha, will do. Once again, even if it doesn't come in time, I'll keep in mind the effort you put into it. I know it sounds cheesy, but it is the thought that counts. Thanks. 8) No worries at all.

I'm most likely going to wear my gear to the midnight showing Wednesday night, but I was wondering, what other days/times are appropriate to dress? Do people dress for matinees during the week, or is this sort of thing reserved primarily for weekend/evening showings?

I'll be wearing the full suit minus the replica gun....I called the theater and they were okay with the whip, but even a replica gun is pushing it so I'll be like Indy in the TOD with an empty holster.

Even though by now I've got almost all of Indy's gear from most of the 'official' (as in Noel Howard, Tony Nowak, Joe Strain, etc) vendors, I won't be going completely decked out as Indy. Sure, I might wear the Aldens and maybe the jacket, weather permitting, but IMO, I just don't want to feel so self-conscious dressed up, that it would ruin my evening and movie experience.

The last thing I want is for that one evening that this entire hobby had been building up to to be ruined by heckling, especially since I'm currently in a small-town where I'd almost certainly be guaranteed to be the only 'Indy' if I did gear up, it would be a given.

However, my hat is off to those of you brave enough to take this opportunity to show off your gear. I wish I had that kind of courage!

I think at most I'd wear the lid and the jacket....if I had them. I'm solidly in the camp of distressing the @#$% out of the gear, so once I attain my stuff, it will get worn around for yard work, working on the truck, etc. Of course due to finances most of my stuff will have to be "close enough" gear for now.

I will be leaving to pick my brother up in just under an hour to head to the theatre and I will be going in full gear. It's not fully authentic like a lot of you, it's more the "close enough" gear that will look as authentic as it gets because none of you will be there to notice. I am also bringing my Ra headpiece with custom chain. And another thing, I am going to break out my Halloween makeup and add the chin scar. Is anyone else going with the chin scar?

I checked and I'm still wearing my Oriental Institute security guard shirt ATM.

Since I just graduated from the University of Chicago 2 months ago I am triply excited for the movie tonight, as I am sure you all are. Just pausing for a minute to think about everything that these movies and Harrison Ford's career in general mean and have meant to me, I am more than moved.

And so in a little bit I'll begin to lace up my beat-up Aldens that have been on two archaeological digs and I'll throw on my Cabela's shirt and if the air in Chicago gets any colder I'll wear my Wested (which started it all) over my WPG bag. And when I don my Akubra shortly before leaving the house it'll be more than a realization.

No whip or holster. I didn't think that would go over too well with the theater. I did wear the rest though.

I completly respect your desistions to wear gear to the premier, but for me only one man can wear it alone, and thats Indy himself.

but on sunday I got a airsoft tornoment and we are all going as our film heros, so i will gear up then.
