Whip Advise For A Newbie

Post by mwells »

I am 30 years old and have finally decided I want a Indy whip and have the funds available. I am leaning towards a Terry Jaka Whip but being a neewbie I was wondering which way I should go either the Jaka or a Morgan I really like the Jaka but would it be easier to learn on a Morgan or should I just start with the Jaka as I know they are quit different.

In my opinion there both professionally made so it should be easy to learn on ether. So I say go with the one you like. :D

No doubt that a well made whip can facilitate the process of learning to crack. Unfortunately for the purchaser, this is a time when, due to the Indiana Jones furor, both of the makers you mentioned are selling at a premium. Both are very dependable, high quality makers- with integrity.

The Morgan will likely be a "shop made" whip, but with the marque Morgan name. Whereas, as far as I know, Terry Jacka is still making his own. Although, considering the deluge of orders he is likely experiencing, he may be having some assistance.

In my own opinion, you would do well to consider a lesser name maker, but one who does very high quality work at a considerably lower price. At a time like this, I tend to look for the "diamond in the rough," for a quality maker in the shadow of the big names.
