The buttons on the front. But you know what? For a budget-conscious Indy shirt that hits all the other marks, is it really right to complain that the buttons are 1/8" too close together? ;) Crazy stitch-counters.

"Shirt Nazis. I hate these guys."

So... am I the only one that habitually checks the UPS tracker to see where his package is located? My shirt should arrive tomorrow. Yay!

Here is a measurement chart for those who have been asking:

S M L XL XXL
Neck 15" 15.5" 16" 16.5" 17"
Sleeve 33.5" 34" 34.5" 35" 35.5"

The XL and XXL shirts will have less of a "waist" in them.

Hi, all. Very first post from a newbie here.

I received my size Large Todd's shirt today, and here is my take on the sizing:

I am 6'2", about 180 lbs, with a slim build. The shirt is, as others have noted, fitted, meaning it tapers at the waist. If you are thick in the middle, this cut will not be for you. I haven't even washed mine yet, and it is close fitting. Not tight, but snugger than what I would normally expect in a dress shirt in Large. The sleeves do seem longer than the average off-the-rack shirt - which is great for me. And those of you with muscular arms be warned: the sleeves are quite tapered and the wrists are small.

Todd says these were created from an original RAIDERS shirt, the Large being Ford's actual size. I've read that Ford is about 2 inches shorter than me, and if you look at the films, he's at his skinniest in RAIDERS (and most buff for ToD). So I guess I can buy that these shirts of Todd's run smallish.

If you are larger than a 42" chest, I suggest you go Extra Large. These are not roomy. And because they are mass-produced, the seam allowances are tiny, and they cannot be let out.

Just my two cents. Hope that helps some of you decide what might be best for you.

Cheers!

Rick

PS - The care label says "wash in warm water, tumble dry," but I intend to wash mine in cold and hang dry it, as I am concerned about it getting too tight if thrown in the dryer.

Got my size large today! Woo Hoo!!!

Chest and shoulder seem fine, maybe a tiny bit more snug than I'd like. It's ok around the waist, but that's more a function of my girth ;-)

I am VERY pleased with the shirt, and even after a wash it is wearable for the 22nd!

I did have to go on an emergency pants run however...lol...as the Orvis close enoughs I had purchased were actually lighter than the shirt. Thank God for WalMart, and some light brown cotton close enoughs.

I am definitely buying an Extra large to use for Halloween. That, or losing 10 pounds.

Yep, got mine today too, and I love it. I have a 42 inch chest and the shoulders and chest fit great. I was a little concerned about the waist from reading a couple of previous posts, but it fits fine over my size 36 waist - even after washing and drying it (on no heat).

It's a great shirt. Excellent job Todd!!

Recieved my shirt today! The Large fits me perfectly, however the color does seem so dark when viewed indoors. I was wondering whether if the tempation to lighten it does strike, does anyone think that using just the tiniest amount of bleach in the wash would work?

Received my large today. Could not be happier. Thank you Todd! Bravo. The shirt is darker than I expected, especially compared to my Wested. That's not a bad thing in any way it really looks great.
The Todd's is a size Large, the Wested a Medium.

I noticed on the new Raiders Special Edition DVD during the interviews Ford wearing what looked similar to Todd's Celery shaded sample shirt. Any updates on possibly offering the shirts in other colors Todd?

How much do Todd's Shirts shrink? and how big would you say the Larges are compared to the Mediums? If the mediums have not been shipped yet!! Then please tell me any of your estimates on how big the Large is!!!

####!!! I received my shirt today.... I was so unhappy with the color and I was in such a rush to get ready for the premiere that i hastely deceided to BLEACH my shirt... MISTAKE. I ruined it and unfortunely I love the fit, its so perfect, and I love the quality but now its too yellow... At first I thought it was too green..

After bleaching it though I have noticed that the buttons match in color... I don't think the bleach affected the buttons.

I will have pictures later...

Hmmm, so I guess that's a no go on the bleach. Maybe a dash of RIT color remover would lighten the shirt without ruining it?

If you're going to use RIT dye remover, commit to using a LOT of it and completely removing color. Just using a little to lighten the existing color does not work. I tried that on my WPG (all cotton) and it turned the shirt a canary yellow. I had to use packet after packet of remover to get it almost white, then used RIT tan dye to get it back to around where I wanted it. In all it probably wasn't worth the hassle.

I find the color to be more Last Crusade than Raiders or Temple. It's more of a light khaki whereas the Raiders shirt is (or at least looks) more tan. It's interesting, because in most parts the CS shirt seems more tan than the LC shirt as well.

Anyway, it's a great shirt. I'm still on the fence about whether I want to meddle with the color or not.

So are Todd's shirts suppose to be shipping today? I pre-ordered mine last month....or whenever he said we could. And I thought I remembered him saying that the Smalls and Mediums would ship on the 23rd. Am I right?

Just checking.

I pre-ordered when you did. In the last few days, his shipping estimates for the smalls and mediums went from "May 23rd" to "late May" and now it's "mid June." Looks like his shirt maker is either behind schedule or is not delivering to his requirements.

In retrospect, I should've ordered the large... now that we know it's only a half an inch bigger all around than the medium. But we couldn't pin him down on the measurements until recently. Though, he hasn't told us the true chest measurements -- Large is usually 42-44... but I have no idea what the chest measurements are on these. My neck and sleeve measurements seem dead-on for the medium and my chest is 39 inches.

I'm mildly disappointed. If the medium arrives and it's much more snug than an average medium dress shirt, I'll be even more disappointed, as I'll have to send it back and wait till "mid summer" for a large.

It could be that I did this totally backwards. I was perhaps overly confident that a medium was best for me. I guess we'll know in June. :(

I still appreciate what you're doing for us Todd, it's a great shirt for the price... I just hope there are no more delays.

Hey Holt...thanks.

Actually my jacket is my least favorite piece of gear besides my Oak Creek pants... :D

It's a US Wings Jacket... Size XL. Its way too big for me and I trimmed the sleeves down a wee much. It looks fine with my hands to my sides but if I stretch out, for example when I'm driving, it goes up my forearm. There is way too much leather under my armpits...

Its a shame really because I have the leather worked in so nice and natural weathering and all... It's traveled through a lot of Europe too.

Does anyone think Todd will change the color? I would certain like to order another one because the large fit is fantastic for me!!!

It sure wasn't anything like Indyfalco's... I am wondering if there wasn't some variation coloring done in the factory...

I just got mine 15 minutes ago! Just arrived from KoTCS (For the fourth time) and my neighbor ring my door bell on his pajamas (It way past midnight here) and handed my Todd’s shipment with my shirt among other items! Weeeee!!! (Should I have tipped my neighbor??? LOL)

I’m really sorry I can post any pictures, but my darn camera died on me today, but overall is actually what we have seen here, it was exactly what I expected after watching those other pictures.

The color might be darker for some, but I actually love the color, this is exactly what I believe to be actually SA! (LC and KoTCS perhaps?) Exactly what I was looking for, love the color!

I feel this is a really good work, I can say I’m most pleased with Todd work on this one; this is such a good shirt I’m planning to assist tomorrow to the movie theater for KoTCS (For the fifth time) with out my jacket, more into a KoTCS Area 51 look just for the pleasure of it!

I’m happy now; I feel pretty much complete now! Still have some CE items like my pants and shoes, but nothing important, I really feel like I’m a true Gearhead now for the very first time!

P.S. I got large and got an almost perfect fit, but I’m usually somewhere between the evil reign of mediums and larges (5'9" and about 154 lbs), if this reference helps some one.

I think LC is pretty accurate. To me, the color looks most like the shirt in this shot:

Image

I think the overall brightness is accurate, but it's a bit too yellow for a Raider's shirt. You can tell by the sweatspots (ew) that the shirt is tan, where the Todd's shirt (and the LC shirt) is khaki when wet.

Howdy, all!

The percieved color of the shirt depends so much on lighting conditions, film, etc. The Raiders shirt that I've seen photos of looks pink like Noel Howard's shirts. I tried to pick a color that would mesh well with the other articles of the wardrobe when seen in real life, and I hope I have succeeded. Judging by the pictures of Redinight at the premier, I'd say I got pretty close. Looks like the indoors Raiders scenes to me...

Also, HF was REALLY tanned in Raiders, much more than the sequels. He was red as a lobster. One explanation for the lightness of the shirt compared with his skin tone in the three films.

My next run of shirts will be more tan than khaki, although LC was definitely a stock khaki color shirt. I think the pinkish shirts in Raiders came off more tan.

Speaking of delivery schedules, the factory keeps changing dates on me. Sorry. They are going to ship each size as the ordered amount is completed. I don't know in which order they are going to make them. My next order will be placed with another manufacturer that will be more reliable. Anyway, the shirts will be shipped as soon as they are received. Thanks for your patience!

I will definately be ordering on the next run of Larges!!!!! I did bleach the shirt but it was only a cup and in water and I quickly rinsed the shirt. I love the color for the others but the tan one or what not coming up with more closely resemble Raiders indoors hopefully..

I want to thank Todd for his supreme job on the shirt and I want to say its well worth the great price.

I love the color, all my other Indy shirts are in the tanish look. So this one being a darker kahki is perfect.

All though I'm so tempted to dry the Ritt dye remover to make it more like my others....must resist.

This is my first post and unfortunately I'm in the same boat. I'd love to see the shirts but my pre-order from 04/29/08 was "overlooked". I had contacted Todd to get status on the order I had placed and he responded that he had no order on file. After I sent him a copy of the paypal receipt showing he did in fact have an order on file (or he at least had my money) he replied that he was sorry my order was "overlooked" and promptly refunded my credit card. Pretty bad form to "overlook" an order for which he had already received money. Anyways, since I am disappointed with my first attempt to order from this vendor and in the market for a shirt, any suggestions on shirt preferences from Magnoli's, Wested, Adventurebilt or Noel Coward? I already have a What Price Glory shirt and since I am not one of the plump Americans these were made for it will need to go to a tailor for some adjusting and until then I am looking for something a little more fitted that a vendor can actually mail to me in the wilds of Colorado.

Mhenry and Doug C,

I profusely apologize for the mess up on your orders. Normally when orders are placed and paid through Paypal, we get an e-mail notification of your order. That's how we know that an order has been placed. There was an undetermined time period around the end of April when several (we don't even know how many yet) orders went un-reported to us by Paypal. I don't know if they were having problems with their system, or perhaps it was a case where two orders were being placed at once and only one was reported. We're going back through the Paypal history for the weeks surrounding that time to make sure we no one else got missed by Paypal and us, and to determine exactly how many orders this glitch affected.

We're just a small time operation, and the end of April we were literally overwhelmed with hundreds of orders for shirts in the space of two or three days. We didn't expect that and we really can't handle that many orders without making some mistakes. Since we can't afford a programmer (or even a webmaster, for that matter - I'm the only full-time employee here!) we use Paypal's shopping cart system, and for the past five or six years it has been 99% reliable, which is pretty good where web programming is concerned.

Again, I am sorry we missed a few of your orders. I hope now you understand why and won't be too hard on me. We refunded the orders when we were aware of the situation. I know you'd rather have a shirt than your money back, but I can't fix that.

We'll have more shirts for those of you who missed out the first time around. We'll be selling them for a long time.

I should be swimming in new shirts by mid-July. I'm thinking of putting in a diving board.

For those of you who pre-ordered from the first run, the factory tells me those will be completed mid-June. We may get some earlier, but I can't promise. I'm at the mercy of the sewing company and their schedule. They have set my order aside in order to meet some deadlines from bigger clients than me. They will get back to my order next week (or so I'm told)

The sewing factory has repeatedly delayed my order, causing the delivery date to be far later than they promised at the beginning. I'm sorry to disappoint people. If I had known this would happen I would not have taken pre-orders at all.

It is so nice to receive progress updates! Thanks a million.

My son is having an Indiana Jones themed birthday party on June 21, but I am not sure exactly where I fall in the timeline (i.e. I don't know if I will be getting a "more tan than khaki" one in July or one like the first run in Mid-June.)

My PayPal payment would have come through using my Sergeant TK 1028 account that I have through aol.

Adventure Shirt $49.95
Indiana Jones Style Deluxe Bag Strap $19.95
Indy Weapon Belt $14.99
Khaki Web Belt with Steel Buckle $4.95
(Total Cost $101.84 including shipping)

I just want to thank you for all that you do to help the community. I completely understand about production delays.

I don't know if they were having problems with their system, or perhaps it was a case where two orders were being placed at once and only one was reported. We're going back through the Paypal history for the weeks surrounding that time to make sure we no one else got missed by Paypal and us, and to determine exactly how many orders this glitch affected.
