It has been a long time since I posted images of my Federation in NYC:
viewtopic.php?t=21306
Alas the images have bitten the dust in cyberspace, however having returned from a recent trip to South Africa I thought I'd share a couple of memories:
Taken on a farm near Durban
With some of the ostriches I'd help translocate
Driving the 4x4 "Rhino"
And with an orphaned black rhino calf which had been previously attacked by lions - now well on it's way to recovery.
You'll see the Mk VII with Lost Ark strap - makes a very good travel bag, to be honest I use it every day.
Of course I will be at the Portuguese Premier of Indy IV with hat sack and close enough ware - can't wait. But of course Africa is where my heart and mind is most of the time, when I'm back here in Europe.
Take care,
Matt

Hey Matt!
Great pictures! I love South Africa - isn't it awesome? My dad was born in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and he and his family moved to the Johannesburg, South Africa area when he was still really young. He came to the 'States when he was in his early 20s, I think, but the rest of his immediate family is still over in Joburg. One of his uncles even has a bird farm there, and he supplies birds to places all over the world!
I've been to South Africa and back probably about 5 times, and I always love going there. Lots of his family is still in Zimbabwe though, and they're having a hard time with Mugabe and all that, being kicked off their farms.
The last time I was in Durban was probably when I was close to 5 years old (though I could be mistaken) in the early-mid 90s. Did you get a chance to go to the beach there? You gotta love swimming in the Indian ocean, with those nets to hold back the great whites!!
I hope you don't mind me posting a couple pictures from my most recent trip in 2006... not as adventurous looking as yours, but I think they capture a little bit of the beauty of the land there.
Great pics!! Thanks for sharing!!!
