Keppler Bullwhip Question

Post by Blackthorne Rose »

I was looking at Keppler's Bullwhip on this site. Looks very sturdy with the same Indy look for a good price. I know Michaelson owns one. Does anyone else? Can you give a review of how it handles?

Blackthorne,

Check out this thread:http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=965

Peace,
Cliffhanger

P.S. From what I gather, it is a great whip, just a bit darker than most folks like. He has recently added a wrist loop to make it more Indy-ish.

The only problem I've experienced with a Keppler whip is getting hold of one. It's my original post that relates to the thread mentioned above. I've placed an order with Lee a couple of times - great communication with every question I asked - right up to the point where I place an order with him, and then...nothing.
He seems to be very busy and disappears for long periods. To be fair, he doesn't bill me or anything, I just can't seem to get him to finalise my order.
I placed an order with him a couple of weeks ago, so I'll let you know if this one goes through.

It's a good whip at a great price. Sure, it's not roo ... but it doesn't cost the same as roo either.

Does Lee attend any gun shows? I seem to remember seeing a big banner for Adventure Supply ( or Adventure something) here in Louisville during our big National Gun Day. At one point I was going to buy a bullwhip from a gent that looks strikingly similar to the one that Lee offers?

Yes, he does Gun Shows. I hear that's where he spends most of his time.

Since Lee travels to gun shows on a regular basis and and I am pretty sure I have seen him in Louisville, he will probably be at the National Gun Day show here on Sept. 27-28. I may just try to pick up a whip and fedora and holster from him then.

Lee does attend gun shows regularly, but if I'm not mistaken, he's mainly in the California/West Coast vicinity. Atleast I know he's told me it's been years since he's been to the East Coast.

Well, that doesn't do me any good then. My bad luck. Is it possible to call him with the number that was provided on the other thread or would that make him mad?

Lucky me! I got a hold of Lee today and placed an order over the phone. The man is extremely polite and I definitely remember him from when he attended the Louisville Gun shows. I actually placed an order for his 10' bullwhip and the Raiders fedora. He is going to place the Cairo bash on it. I should be getting them in the next 6 weeks. I am very excited.

I probably will. We can discuss it at the Louisville Summit.
