I ordered an Idol Grab bash on June 20, 2007.

I'm hoping I'll have it before the premiere.

Thanks for the link, Alan. However, that won't help this thread much. I'm accumulating the names and dates of when AB's have been ordered, and placing them in chronological order.

I ordered a Crystal Skull bash Adventurebilt on March 24th, 2008. Steve told me it would be by the end of the year, probably in the Fall. You guys can use that as a reference. If you ordered around the same time then that is probably when you will recieve your AB.

April 4th 2008 I pulled the trigger on a KotCS AB from Steve.

I have a 2005 beaver Cairo bash with the Staff of Ra liner so I'm hoping he will be on to the pyramid by the time he gets around to my new one.

I will specify the bash after seeing the movie, (assuming that the hat is not going to be identical in every scene)

No offense, but it might not help here much, either. If the honest purpose of this thread is to simply mark when folks ordered their hats, and nothing more, then that's one thing. But if you plan to use it in hopes of getting an idea when to expect hats to arrive, then that idea has already been covered in the other thread, making this one redundant. To tell the truth, I don't see the point of a thread for the sake of only recording chronological orders. It'd be the same thing as having a "when did you order your shoes" thread. :? Doesn't make much sense, but that's just me.

Keep in mind that just because two people ordered hats at the same time, it doesn't mean they'll get their hats at the same time. Hat size can be a factor—less common hat sizes don't take up as much block time as a bunch of popular sizes all waiting their turn on the block. If he gets ill, that could affect turnaround. Availability and shipping of materials is another. And then there's the whole supply and demand thing. Once the new movie hits, I bet he'll get swamped with a ton of orders, regardless of price increase. That alone will likely make this thread pointless.

Also, I'm sure Steve is WELL aware of how many hats he has to make and for whom. I seriously doubt that he'll use this thread to speed up his work time. If anything, it might just frustrate him all the more. The fact of the matter is that if you want an AB, there's a wait time for the hats. Period. Sure, he's trying to reduce the wait time, but if you can't stand the wait, then he's always happy to refund your money and go about his business of making hats for the more patient customers.

I know it's difficult for the majority of us to wait more than a couple weeks for any piece of gear around here, but it's been stated by a good number of folks that we live in an instant gratification age. There are a bunch of Veruca Salts anywhere you go, not just here. Personally, I ordered mine a long time ago, but I have no idea what day and month that was. I made an effort NOT to mark it down. I know my hat will get to me and I know it will have been worth the wait. I can be patient for it. But if it makes you feel better to mark it all down, go ahead. But as soon as it turns into another "I'm tired of waiting for my hat" thread, it will become even more of a parallel of the other thread, meaning one of them will get locked down. Sorry, but I'm getting a little worn out by all the impatient hat comments...

Bink, no offense, but why would you post a response to my thread like this? There was no "I'm tired of waiting for my hat" posts in this thread yet. I just want to see how many members here ordered hats, and how long ago it was. I thought we were cool, especially after meeting you in person at C3, and hanging out in MD watching the trilogy on the big screen, but I guess you don't feel the same. I have never started any trouble here at COW, and don't plan on it.
If you think this thread is inapporopriate, then by all means, lock it down and delete it.

Blues, I have no beef with you, nor am I accusing you of causing trouble. I agree that I enjoyed meeting you and hanging out with you. If you feel that has changed, then I'm sorry you feel that way.

You said:
I wanted to start a thread, so that everyone that is waiting on an AB, or multible AB's, could post here, so we could get an idea of the average length of time since you have ordered an Adventurebilt Fedora.
The very first post of the other thread was:
A couple of weeks ago I got the budget approval from upper managment for my AB. I sent Steve an e-mail followed by a pm here a few days later as there was no reply to my e-mail. Still no reply.

Now please don't take this as a complaint because it's not. I know that Steve is likely crazy busy these days and I wish him all the luck in the world!
However I was wondering if anyone knew what the current approximate wait time was for an AB. Under the circumstances I'm sure it's considerably longer than it used to be.
It was followed by numerous conversations regarding wait time, including folks posting when they ordered. That's what I'm basing my redundancy comment on, NOT based off the individuals who started any given thread. You said, There was no "I'm tired of waiting for my hat" posts in this thread yet. Yet. All I'm pointing out is that these conversations have happened before in various forms and that inevitably there have been folks who start turning things into a "why haven't I gotten my hat" thread. THAT'S what gets tiring and that is what I hope not to see happen here. Blues, if you can keep the list organized, by all means, please do so. Folks, post away if you know what date you ordered. But PLEASE refrain from making this another thread full of complaints. That's all I'm asking. Blues, if you feel this was a personal attack against you, then you read me wrong.

Sounds good to me, and I appreciate the reply. I will keep updating the thread, and if it starts getting out of hand, or of a complaining, whining nature, I'll be the first to notify you of what's going on.

I don't expect this thread to put a fire under Steve's butt, because no matter what, he can only put together so many hats per week. I don't want to make him feel this is some sort of "rabble rousing" thread, to get him to make hats faster. Not my intent. I just want to get an idea of the order history and time frame. Steve was gracious enough to offer me a free replacement hat, so I'm the last guy to complain.

Thanks,
'Blues

Oooo, pick me, pick me! :P I may not be family yet, but I'll take a beating! I guess right now I'm kind of like your sister's boy friend that is at your house all the time and eats all the Frosted Flakes right out of the box and takes the last packet of Gushers but leaves the box in the pantry. I'll be considered family in about a year and in two years when I marry your sister I'll be officially considered family! \:D/

Man, that was long and pointless! Why did I post that, now? #-o

All the specifics can be discussed through e-mail. You can include a message when you pay through Paypal. Steve can bash the hat in any scene bash you want. Just pick a scene and he will do that for you.

E-mail is best. If he does not get back to you after a few e-mails, however, just send him payment though Paypal. That will ensure your place in line.

Danny,

E-mail is the best way to reach Steve. He WILL reply back to you. I've ordered 2 ABs in the last few months, and he has responded back each time. If no response in the first attempt, e-mail him a second time (maybe a week later). He's mentioned that he's been bombarded with e-mails recently and may miss some. But, wait no more!! Get that order placed - you won't be disappointed! Send him your hat size. You can always choose you bash when your hat closer to being made.

I may just opt for the "throwing the money method" just to be safe. Is Steve still offering a discount to COW members?
