AB beaver vs Fullers Earth

With luck I might be getting my new AB beaver before the premire. I'm off the day of the midnight showing and luckly the day after too.
I was wondering if I applied just alight dusting of Fullers before I left to get in line (oh yea I'm gonna get there early) would it come off easily with a vacum cleaner. I experamented with my Keppler and it didn't come out to badly.

Anyone have any thoughts on this.

Should come off just fine. Also if you lightly tap or flick the hat, it'll puff off. Also also, if it gets a little bit wet (in the event that it rains after the premiere), it'll all just come right off. I've used a vacuum before, but usually I just hit the hats a little and use a hat brush to brush it all off.

Well, TonyRush posted this the last time this was asked, quote below taken directly from Todd's Costume website, and I believe it bears repeating..

Hmm... well, I'm not saying Todd doesn't know what he's talking about, because we know he does, but I've never had a problem getting it off my hat before. It MAY take a brush and some steam to get the deep clean, but I'm not sure it'll be dirty forever!

I'm going to clean off my AB right now and see how it works - it's been on there for a few weeks now. We'll see what happens!

Well it all came off the felt just fine, and all I used was the little brush he sells. I DID use a little vacuum for getting it off the ribbon, but other than that, it was fine.

Yeah, just wanted to make sure that 'disclaimer' was seen, as no matter how often folks are told, when something is tried and goes south, they scream bloody murder here before they realize they WERE told otherwise!

Glad it worked for you McFly. That doesn't necessarily mean it will work for everyone, especially since we have a posted statement by Todd's Costume to the contrary, so it's a 50/50 chance either way.

That said, both sides of the issue state it's completely reversable, but one states it will take a professional cleaning to do the job, while the other was able to do it himself. Either way, you're not DOA if you do the deed.

Exactly! Sometimes it works wonderfully, and sometimes it might not. I just mean to say that in my experience it's been alright each time. However - that said, I usually don't leave Fuller's on my hats for months and months and months either, in which case a professional cleaning may be absolutely neccesary.

Did anyone watch Keppler's video on hat softening. A child could do it. I have to say I've dealt with all types of gear heads in other genres like Comic book fans and such, but Indy fans are the most helpful.
