Wested question

Post by Indiana Grom »

Hey everybody! I'm new here, been reading the forums for a while now but only recently joined. I'm trying to get an off the rack Wested, but the only one in my size that they have currently is the authentic brown lambskin. Personally I kinda like that (it forces me to get the cheaper option) but I'm concerned about how in its description it mentions that it is less durable than its counterparts. Is this anything to worry about? How does it compare in durability to the standard lambskin? Thanks!

My first jacket was an authentic brown lambskin, the leather is very light weight. IMO, the lambskin would have been better, more durable, heavier and a more accurate replica.

The off the rack standard lambskin is not very SA. If you're skinny, it won't fit you well at all. I'm currently saving up for the authentic Raiders lambskin. The differences are mostly in the weight of the lambskin. Honestly, if you're just planning on wearing it and not doing anything crazy in it like dragging yourself behind a truck, it'll hold up just as well.

Are you talking about the ROTLA special offer?

Already ripped mine a month ago while adjusting the straps.

Leather is too thin IMO.

A great summer jacket while walking through the park with your granny, though.
